You were admitting that Ray was good? The Browns will lose, just like they lost last time.
We can hold together and we can pull through, with Ray or not.
He was our passion and soul, and it's a shame he is out for the season.
We will prevail!

I think Scott Fujita(shame the Saints let him go, especially these days) hits the nail on the head, not just with regards to himself, but to the Saints as a whole.

Roger Goodell needs to be fired and I think should be considered for a new title: Worst Commissioner Ever.

Personally, I think he was just afraid that the first hometeam-Superbowl could've been in such a small market as New Orleans and set out to destroy any chance of that happening. If it was in Dallas or New York you wouldn't see any of this bullshit.

Saints fans and Raiders fans.

They think everything's a goddamn conspiracy.

Don't believe me? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the Wild Card in 2000 when the Super Bowl was going to be held at Raymond James Stadium without any rash of suspensions or other league interference. Small market team with a shot at a home-field Super Bowl, still didn't make it in spite of being a pretty damn good team.

Tampa Bay's not small market. Jacksonville's small market. Tampa Bay is the 17th largest city in America, by itself, and when you count the rest of its market area, it's huge.

And personally, I'm not normally big on conspiracy theories, but I do think something smells when you cripple a team on a whim or to make yourself "look tough", it's crazy.

I guess it could be simple incompetence, but then why throw down the gauntlet when your incompetence is made public? There's got to be some sort of malice when the best you can come with is "not standing up to your superiors".

I'm still holding out some hope though, I just can't believe that it's hopeless with Drew out there and the rest of the Offense. Just need to the defense to reach the heights of even mediocre and we could still see a 12-4 season, and a shot at the playoffs and possibly even the division.

Yeah, the Bucs clinched a playoff berth that year the week before the end of the season, and lost to the Packers the final week when a win would've given the Bucs the #2 and a bye, which would've made it easier for them to get there. It had nothing to do with "Hosting a Super Bowl=Must put team in Playoffs." Stupidest NFL conspiracy theory ever.

Actually I was arguing the opposite, that there's an interest in keeping a small market team out of the playoffs because they're hosting it.

Exactly, there was a lot of advertising potential in selecting New Orleans to host, it generates good will after Katrina.

But Katrina was seven years ago now, and that good will isn't as strong as it was, and the league would do better to cash in its chips on this particular first in a larger city.

I'm not saying it's a bulletproof theory, I'm just trying to make sense out of a nonsensical approach from the Commissioner with regards to a problem he apparently made up.

Qazox NFL Super SEVEN! Week 6

Postby Qazox » Mon Oct 15, 2012 11:13 pm

It's time for the Qazox NFL Super 7!

Only 7 teams are good enough to make this list. Only the 7 best teams this season (so far) make this list

#1- Atlanta Falcons (6-0) LW: #2
#2- Baltimore Ravens (5-1) LW #3
#3- Chicago Bears (4-1) LW: #5
#4- Houston Texans (5-1) LW #1
#5- New York Giants (4-2) LW: NR
#6- Seattle Seahawks (4-2) LW: NR
#7- Green Bay Packers (3-3) LW: NR

Out of the 7 (for now): New England, Arizona and San Francisco

and the Bottom of the Barrel team going into Week 7 is: San Diego. Sorry but blowing a 24 point lead AT HOME is inexcusable.

Thursday's game prediction: Seattle 19 @ San Francisco 14

Just one little note: 1 made FG vs Arizona and 1 missed FG by Baltimore; and this year the Pats are off to a 5-1 start instead of a 3-3 one. No team since 1960 (when the AFL started/NFL 1st expanded) have ever lost 3 games by a total of 4 points. Just sayin'.
