Even one of the main guys they talk about, Brett Favre says nothing like that was done to him and the Saints didn't go after him anymore than any other team.

Hell, the Saints have one of, if not the, lowest penalty rates in the ENTIRE LEAGUE, and this is the team that's supposedly the devil incarnate? That just doesn't add up.

The players were paid for performance, like every other team, but that's not the same as putting a hit on someone. Which the team never did, and even Goodell is backing away from. There was an ulterior motive to Goodell's actions, and it was keeping the Saints out of the Superbowl so he didn't miss his big payday in Dallas.

you dont think that this is an exageration at all, really

Well I did state it's my personal conspiracy theory. But is it really all that farfetched? The league would stand to make a lot of money on a host city's team playing in the Super Bowl, it stands to reason they'd prefer a larger market team to do it.

That's true, I suppose. But wasn't there an audio tape of a player asking for his money & I thought one of the players admitted it?

Plus the DC (Greg Williams, was the name?) is still banned from the NFL, I don't hear anyone (or him) appealing.

Williams and Payton probably didn't have as much leg to stand on as the Players. The Coaches don't get the same kind of union contracts and the like.

Supposedly Anthony Hargrove admitted it, but he later admitted he was coerced into it.

Maybe, but I don't hear anything any more plausible. The supposed bounty system hasn't been proven to exist. Hell, in Fujita's own words he's now being suspended for "not confronting his superiors", what does that even mean? So to me there's only two options, either Goodell is just doing it for fun, or he's doing it for financial gain.

I simply find the latter to be more believable.

But that doesn't account for the malice with which he's kept the suspensions in place despite the program being nonexistent.

Either way, I'd still say he should be fired as a result, and is the worst commissioner ever. A decent commissioner doesn't cripple a team on a whim or panic.

I'll say it first and I think that the Saints are going to lose both of their matches against the Falcons. Go ATL!

I wouldn't put it in the bag yet. The Saints are still one of the best offenses in the league, and if the Defense can perform at even a mediocre level then New Orleans is definitely in the game. Was the team crippled? Yes, unfairly so, but that doesn't mean it can't still put up a fight, the personnel is just too good on the offensive side.

I read a interesting article earlier.

Someone wrote a article that connected Troy Polamalu's Sprained Achilles Tendon injury in 2010 to his current Calf issues and how he wasnt put on IR to let it heal because we were on the way to the SB. Therefore the inability to let the Tendon heal is now causing weakness in his Calf. If this turns out to be true, i say just put him on Injured Reserve and let him heal up for a year, try to let him Rehab it and become himself again.

On the Saints Note : No evidence has yet to be shown that proves anything Goodell is saying. In 2010 the first game vs the Panthers saw Steve Smith leave with that late hit by Harper (Ankle) but no mention has ever come out of any payments for that hit. The second game, on Nov 7th, saw two players leave for the Panthers, matching the 3 Total players for the season Goodell states.

EEXCEPPPTTTT...................... The second game saw Dan Conner (Linebacker) and Greg Hardy (Defensive End) leave, meaning that two of the three stated injuries for the specific mentioning occurred when none of the suspended players were on the field!!!!! OH MY GOD (que sarcasm)

They claimed it was Hargrove, who than said it was Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Than some Forensic's guys proved it wasnt Hargrove's voice, which is why im pretty sure we havent heard much about that recently, because even Goodell isnt dumbass enough to use it.

Hopefully I won't have to deal with this "Texans just beat Packers. Can anyone stop them?" talk like did they (ESPN and various analysts from different networks) did with San Francisco earlier, and earlier the 18-1 Patriots...

Those conversations are always way to generic and the same station/show/site (albeit ESPN, NFL Total Access, NFL AM, etc) they say the same damn thing.

Damn 0-1 again this week. But missing a 54-yarder isn't that bad, but the Steelers, supposedly having one of the better defenses, can't stop the Titans from going 33 yards in 45 seconds??
