Um no. I would be my ass that no more than a handful of people died from starvation EVEN IN THE GREAT DEPRESSION.

Meanwhile millions dead in the ussr, the exemplification of "state benevolence" and "social safety nets".

Oh, how I love strawmen. Have fun hacking them apart. I in no way support the Soviet Union, for god's sake!
And if you think that dying of starvation is the only bad effect of poverty, then I advise you to do further research.

I love this myth that the USSR was Communist. If you look at policy post-Lenin, it's basically just a dictatorship.

they kiss the ass of big money, and brag about doing so. that's their whole enchilada. they don't CARE about POPULAR support, as long as they get monetary support to buy their way into office.
of course there are a lot of mouth breathers who are conned into believing because they call themselves conservative that they are all about keeping things the way they are familiar with. many of whom are small business people, or aspire to be, or are just plain blinded by thinking there is anything in it for them. that's where their votes come from. but the moolah to pay for marketing themselves to them, where that comes from, is all the party and its members, for the most part, give a rats ass about.

don't get me wrong, i know big money has the democrats over a barrel too. the difference is, at least some democrates care a little, and or try to, where as its the republicans who actually BRAG ABOUT selling out.

How are incandescent light bulbs more polluting than those florescent ones? I would be more concerned with the mercury in the new bulbs, also the process that makes florescent bulbs pollutes more so than the making of incandescent bulbs.

A better vehicle for less is subjective to anyone buying a new vehicle, it all depends on features and bang for the buck when looking and some how I do not think people buying a new car that their first concern is the affect on air quality.

Why should I have to be forced to pick a choice that is not in my best interests or that of my family? Being forced into something seems to me that it goes against personal responsibility and the right of free will of choice.

That doesn't explain why people vote Republican, saying how the GOP is widely more irresponsible with money and they desperately wish to create a nanny state that forces morality down individuals throats.

what would be reasonable would be assault rifles and pistols as well as sniper rifles, the basics of a militia, obviously rockets and the like are a little extreme, but the average citizen should be able to arm himself like the average infantryman.

Nixon didn't break and enter, nor is there any proof that he ordered people below him to do so. He did, however try to cover it up and that's where he erred.
