Your dream career?

Seeing that NationStates is so diverse, I wanted to see what people's dream careers are on here. I know a few people are old enough to have achieved those jobs. So, NationStates, what would you like to do, when you're all grown up?

Personally, I am in university to become a teacher. I am going to be a history teacher. I would also like to maybe teach in Denmark, or at least study there for a year.

Well, I'm kind of going through an unsure stage, but I've more or less always been strongly interested in marine biology.

I am currently discerning what my calling is. I feel, deep down that I should be a priest, and I am considering going into seminary school.

The second one is kind of difficult as I've pretty much lost all my metabolism when I had asthma and haven't been able to lose weight no matter what I've tried.

As far as the video game thing, I've actually gone to college for it, but their promise of being able to create your own working game was one they could not fulfill... partly because of the sheer incompetence of our advanced professor, partly because the programming professor was on a generic curriculum and never even taught us how to turn our programs into executable files. I did manage to figure out how to make a rudimentary d20 system, but that was without his help.

EDIT- Oh, I actually did record some music once, but mostly as a distraction from boredom. It was basically me hitting random notes on a guitar and singing completely random shit, recording it on the cheapest microphone I could afford. I called the project "Sacred Order of the Fruitbat", claiming there were ten members but you could only hear the guitarist and the singer. It was pretty much comedic stuff, some of it fairly vulgar (there's an entire song where all the lyrics are swear words, as a way of pointing out the silliness of censorship). There's a couple of the songs on the YouTube channel "WorshipTheFruitbat": "I Love Eating Sea Kittens" (mocking PETA) and "Everyone Betrays Everyone" (A satire on Metal Gear Solid). Warning, this is TERRIBLE stuff, as I did it all in one take and like I said I was randomly hitting notes on the guitar. But the lyrics I've been told are funny.

I have finally achieved my dream career ... I've retired. Oddly, I don't sit at home all day, reading and eating bon bons. I am active in my community, enjoy going to baseball, football and hockey games, I hike, work out and indulge in carefully planned retail therapy. Occasionally, I even do some housework.

Corporate leader (enter the workforce, and work my way up through the ranks to become a top guy in a company)
CIA agent (I do not defend the current CIA's actions, and I hope that some changes are made to it before/if i join.
Border Patrol agent (I am fluent in Spanish, so this should be an interest job)


I am half Puerto Rican and fluent in both Spanish and English, and I think that my fluency will help me greatly in all fields. If I run for Governor, speaking Spanish could help me win the Latino vote. Speaking Spanish could attract me a lot more fans if I was a race car driver or rugby player. Speaking Spanish helps a lot in the business world, as Spanish-speakers make up a large amount of the workforce.

Professional wrestling also shortens your life by a noticeable margin. It's also incredibly difficult to get noticed by one of the major indy companies, let alone the big two (WWE and TNA). It'd be wise not to follow that career unless you're willing to sacrifice a lot for something that only promises a small amount of benefit.

Anyhoo...

I'm sort of doing my dream career...even though it lulled a bit and I had to fall back on my last dream career. Which has been a little surreal.

So, outside of the dream career I'm already doing, I would very much like to have been a race car driver but I wasn't even the best driver in my club (though, to be fair, the best driver in our club at the time is currently a four time champion in his series...)

Also, I would have loved it if I could have been a stand up comic just because for some reason I dig stand up comedy. But I am not that kind of funny nor am I good at talking to crowds...so, that's right out.

When I was a kid I also wanted to be a rescue helicopter pilot. That just seemed like a cool job. Like one you'd make up at a bar to pick up chicks, I guess.

When I was even younger I saw the movie Hitari! and wanted to be the guy who drove the Land Rover as they went after rhinos and shit.

Also wanted to be a writer for TSR back when TSR was a thing.

So...dork, basically. With delusions of Hemmingwayness. And I never even read Hemmingway...
