I've always been more of a scotch or rum drinker (usually Captain Morgan or Scoresby -- hey, I'm poor!), but ever since graduating college, I've been drinking more beer. If I'm on a tight budget (which I usually am), I usually drink either Bürger Classic or PBR, but if I feel like splurging, I'll get either Warsteiner Dunkel, Heineken, or Two-Hearted Ale. When I lived in Germany, there was a local brew from Landshut that I was really fond of called Carl Wittmann, but, sadly, we don't get it in the States.

I've never understood the "I don't drink because I don't like the taste" argument. Like...it doesn't make any sense. Different spirits taste very different. Spirits taste different to beers or ciders. Beer tastes very different to cider, and different beers or ciders taste very different from other beers or ciders. Even within cider you have varieties of fruit, which all taste different. Wine tastes different to spirits, beers, or ciders, and even within wine you have red, white, and rosé, and even within those you have a huge variety in flavours. And then there are liqueurs, which taste different to spirits, beers, ciders, or wines, and even within liqueurs you have a huge range of flavours.

And then even if you don't like any of the many different spirits, any of the many different beers, any of the many different ciders (from many different fruits), any of the many, many different wines, or any of the many different liqueurs, you get into the realm of cocktails and mixed drinks. You can make a cocktail that tastes of anything. You can make a mixed drink that tastes of anything. You can have alcoholic drinks that don't carry even the slightest hint of the taste of alcohol, especially if they're mixed with strongly flavoured fruit juices, like mango or pineapple, or a strong citrus flavour like a lime cordial.

tl;dr: "I don't drink because I don't like the taste" is a bollocks argument. Every alcoholic drink tastes different, some wildly so. Saying that you don't drink becasue you don't like the taste doesn't make any sense - it only means that you didn't like the taste of whatever it was you tried.

Anyway, I've just tried the new Kopperberg one- Naked apple. Not unpleasant, but it definatly tastes like a slihgtly more refined Bulmers/Magners rather than a scrumpy. Disaponting.

Let me tell you youngsters what NOT to drink.

Black Russians, with beer chasers, twelve rounds, with raw clams interspersed.

The wedding was the next day. i was the worst best man ever, except my features did match my gray suit. The two ministers (guests at the party) were worse, and the groom had to be propped up by both elbows.

Now if it hadn't been for those clams, then maybe....

I've drunk alcohol on all of four occasions, so my experience is pretty limited, but I can say for sure that beer is the foulest drink I have ever tasted. Alcopops are generally at the top of my list, with cider just below, and him and champagne are somewhere in the middle. With all that said, I did enjoy being a tad drunk on the one occasion I managed it, and hopefully I'll get a little tipsy again some time soon.
