Basically, you're claiming that "you all drinkers are physically disabled idiots and aren't having a life". Uh uh.

Some people can hold and manage alcohol. Some other people can't. Just because some drinkers you know were bent on getting trashed doesn't mean everyone else does.
Saying you can manage alcohol is like saying you can manage cocaine. Alcohol is the second most addtictive drug that you can legally purchase.
Even if you don't develop alcoholism,

So you see... I don't have to develop alcoholism. Exactly as I stated.

Tell that to Rita Levi-Montalcini, buster. I saw her gulp down three bottle of red, and then starting with champagne. At age 100.

and liver are inevitable. Not to mention, alcohol raises estrogen levels and lowers testosterone levels in men, which is pretty ironic considering the connotations with alcohol and masculinity.
It's your life and all, but at the very least, you should know what you are putting into yourself.

I know it and I know the amount.
Also, I like your claim of "alcohol makes you a sissy"... expecially the totally unbiased source.

So, seriously, stop thinking that because YOU and people YOU know can't manage alcohol, other people can't. Expecially, considering that some of the countries with least chronic alcoholism problems - and with the longest lifespans - consume a lot of alcohol. Italy and France, just as example.

But I guess we're all dumb, physically disabled sissies.

Scotch and soda, preferably using a single malt, is my trademark drink - although I also like Jack and Coke, and wheat bear with coke (German: Colaweizen, the most refreshing drink there is on a hot day). Or just plain beer if there's nothing else available - I do quite like Guinness. As for cocktails, my favourite would be a touchdown the way my black barkeeper mate does them. Generally, I can get pissed on pretty much anything, although I very rarely do.

I don't think I would be ambulatory after three bottles of red and then champagne. That woman is officially a badass.

I enjoy a glass or two of red wine almost every day. It's correlated with good health, and it helps to reduce stress.

That depends on the wine, really. There's some really good stuff, and some really horrible stuff. And from my experience, nothing in between.

I can't stand taste of vodka. Maybe I have tasted only cheap stuff, but I can't over that taste than resembles that of disinfectant. :?
I drink rum and whiskey, when it comes to "harder" stuff.

Kentucky whiskey, New Glarus beer (the IIPA is the absolute BEST), and Absinthe (if that counts).

These days I'm usually drinking either a gin & tonic or a Manhattan, depending on my mood and what's in the liquor cabinet. I do enjoy a nice Islay malt, neat, but the budget is a bit tight until I start getting my PhD funding. It has become a rare treat. Red wine is the beverage of choice with meals. I'm quite fond of Primitivo or Nero D'Avola. Mimosas have become as much a part of breakfast as coffee...at least on the weekends.
