So I tried digging up the old alcohol thread to no avail, so I decided to start a brand spanking new one.

I don't know if you guys know this by now, but I enjoy drinking alcohol. Responsibly of course.
And since there are many new faces (well new to me) I wanted to know your opinions on alcohol. Do you enjoy it? In moderation or like a fish?

What do you prefer? Beer, wine, liquor, or cider? Or something else?

do you have a favorite cocktail? Or a drink recipe you would like to share?

Oh right I forgot about me. I obviously do drink, and my preference is beer.

my favorite beer of the moment is La Fin Du Monde by Unibroue. Epic deliciousness.

Right now I'm 2/3 through a bottle of cheap, cheap gin.

With mixed spirits I find that it doesn't really make a huge amount of difference. I mean, there is a difference, but not enough to ruin it. Cheap mixing spirits are like 128kpbs vs 320kbps for expensive mixing spirits. 128kpbs is listenable, but with a few rough edges, and a lot of the time you might not notice anyway.

Very expensive spirits mixed is like FLAC - while the pretentious cream themselves the difference between it and 320kbps isn't actually noticeable.

So, yeah, gin. Great drink. I'm having more.

Additionally, I don't like being drunk that much, getting drunk is the fun part.

Liquor.

Vodka straight is good stuff. Scotch and water not to bad. If in a cocktail mood, I like to keep it simple: Gin and tonic or jack and coke. Beer really hasn't been my thing for awhile. Before I was 21, it was easier to get it. Now that I'm 22, I'll just go with liquor. It's stronger and it tastes better.

I like drink in every-way possible. I'll drink it straight, mixed, hot, cold it doesn't matter. I do drink in moderation often, but I prefer to drink between 6 and 10 drinks (usually over several hours) get a good buzz going for awhile. Occasionally I'll get truly smashed, but nothing like I used to.

I absolutely agree, if you're mixing, theres no point in buying the best.
