Age polls are meaningless. People over 21 don't care how old they are anymore, so they don't respond to such polls. It's only you punk kids who can't drink or drive or vote or whatever that care about age. For us adults, age is just steps closer to the grave. We try not to think about it.

That's completely insane. Firstly, frogs don't spend all their time sitting on lily pads and can paddle quite well. Secondly, chickens are birds so they'd float as well as a duck does.

My advice: birds are descended from dinosaurs. Don't fuck with them.
Also, "fight like a cornered rat" isn't just a figure of speech. If you give a rat no way out, it WILL go for your face.

On the contrary: my last post to the current Age Poll shows that those over 40 post in the thread to declare an age, as well as voting, at a higher rate than any other demographic. It may be going a bit far to say that past about 30 the older a person is the more proud they are of their age ... but hell, I'll say that. Directly contradicting you.

But I'll also look into it. There may be other data to extract from the relative rates of posting to give an age vs. voting in the poll.

Disserbia won't think vodka is fun when they're 50. It will be "necessary", "a problem" or "not one sip will pass my lips".

If Disserbia even reaches 50. Getting Drunk and Dying Young are positively correlated. Free the weed, man.

You should aim higher. If retirement is something to look forward to, then aim to do it before you get old.

No, birthdays are evil. Just a reminder of how much closer to death we have come.
The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

It's hard enough to save money for retirement at 60-70. I don't even have a 401K and need to save up more money to set up an IRA.

I have yet to wake up somewhere I would have chosen to go when sober after vodka is involved. Even if I did I'd still feel like I wanted to die.

Maybe we should go back to the old East Asian way, and celebrate our birthdays on the New Year.

For one thing, we'd all be a year older at least. For another, we would never have a bad birthday, except that everyone else had one on the same day!

But still, I prefer to have my own birthday. A big celebration for everyone is fine (eg, New Years Eve/Day) but I like to celebrate my birthday on that random day of the year I was born.

I still say that everyone is entitled to a public holiday (day off work without penalty) on their birthday. Or if that day falls on a public holiday or non-work day: the next working day. One day of the year should be just for them. Just for me, just for you. We all deserve one day of the year just for us.
