It is, unfortunately.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

I think he's afraid Obama might actually succeed, thus cementing the Democrats as the dominant party and weakening the GOP.

It's like watching sailors squabble over who gets to be captain of a sinking ship. Think of the Democratic and Republican campaigns as two opposing ships, lining up and preparing the cannons for the upcoming battle. Each ship is taking small shots at each other, but neither side has really brought out the big guns. Unfortunately for the Republican ship, the sailors cannot stop shooting each other and themselves in the foot, and somehow the ship is already partially on fire and slowly sinking its own weight. Whilst it is certainly not the most threatening challenger, the Democratic ship would do well not to sit idly by and let the other ship take shots at it.

Mitt is not going for "more conservative than Obama." He's going for "most conservative" evident by his pick Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan has been stated to be the most extreme. He has supported legislation that even Mississippi conservatives said were too right wing. They don't care about the well-being of the country. You don't need to be left wing to see this.

The GOP losing this election is already going to ensure that. I hope that the GOP splits into two parties. Should buy the Democrats a few terms of majority in Congress to get shit done.

Economy actually improved. Contrary to popular belief, we're not in a recession anymore.

Now, if the GOP really wants to win, they should disown Bush. You can't spin Bush to be a good president, considering that he took Clinton's surplus and turned in into a giant deficit that Obama's still trying to handle. GOP keeps accepting Bush as being part of them, and that's killing them.

I hope the world gets to see a serious period of bloodletting and purging in the GOP, resulting in two weak, poorly organized parties and a Democratic domination for a generation or two.

Bullshit. No way we can catch up to Europe in terms of progression.

Now, pulling our heads out our ass and stopping the "America is #1" national pride bullshit? Maybe, just maybe.

Looked at em. National debt is a larger percentage of GDP under Obama, but the growth rate is way slower than Bush.

Not to mention, the Democrats look way better on that chart than the GOP. If your goal was to prove the GOP is incompetent with budget and financing, congratulations, you proved it!

Oh, and the debt is the result of a stimulus plan that saved the US economy, along with finally putting two wars on the books.

Sorry it's huffington post.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) cosponsored a bill that would give fetuses full personhood rights from the moment of fertilization, which was even rejected by voters in the socially conservative state of Mississippi.

Ah, one of those "America is better than everyone else" people.

Right, obviously we should cement our "we're better than you" status by putting a GOP candidate in office. That'll show Europe, the tea-drinking, wine-sipping bastards!

You mean the wars he said he'd end like... A month after he got into office? Or the ones he went to fight in Libya and now Syria (Which btw I support, but just proving a point here). And yes, I implied that there is a chance America crosses a point of no return, my source is common sense. Look back at Bush and Obama and pretty much every president since FDR. The idea of "Spend now, pay it off later" is the ideology that will sink us, Obama is well in-line with that.
