The fact that people are still bringing this up following the release of the long form goes to show that he was right, in that it was useless to play to that crowd.

Ran into an honest to goodness birther the other day! He started spouting off all this bullshit, like the Kenyan grandmother saying she was there (something so old I actually forgot why it was bullshit)

It was bullshit because people who actually speak her language have listened to what she said, and she said nothing of the kind. The "translation" which claimed that she did was by a journalist noted for inventing all sorts of lies (he also talked to a George Obama from the family and then claimed that George is living in dire poverty and resents that Barack has not helped, causing George to sue him for libel since he's neither living in falling-down-tin-hut the story portrayed, nor is he the kind of person who would ever hit up a relative for money). Even before this came out, it was pointed out that it was bullshit since, among other impossible details, the birth was supposed to happen in a hospital in Mombasa which had not been built at the time (there was only one hospital in pre-independence Kenya, in Nairobi for whites only, in fact black people like the grandmother were never allowed inside-- the place would not even hire black janitors!)

What are the rules for people born between December 23, 1952 and November 13, 1986?

Again, children born abroad to two US citizen parents were US citizens at birth, as long as one of the parents resided in the US at some point before the birth of the child.

When one parent was a US citizen and the other a foreign national, the US citizen parent must have resided in the US for a total of 10 years prior to the birth of the child, with five of the years after the age of 14. An exception for people serving in the military was created by considering time spent outside the US on military duty as time spent in the US.

While there were initially rules regarding what the child must do to retain citizenship, amendments since 1952 have eliminated these requirements.

Children born out of wedlock to a US citizen mother were US citizens if the mother was resident in the US for a period of one year prior to the birth of the child. Children born out of wedlock to a US citizen father acquired US citizenship only if legitimated before turning 21.

If the Democrats use this to their advantage, the Republicans will lose the senior vote because of the Ryan plan and they will also lose the female vote by more than usual because of believing abortion should be illegal (even with rape).

Oh, and when you sponsor the Sanctity of Human Life Act (which got rejected even in the most conservative places like Missouri), you can even lose some of the conservatives vote by being too extreme. Ryan was even better news for Obama than I suspected.

That is interesting saying how his intellectual idol had this to say about abortion..
“Abortion is a moral right—which should be left to the sole discretion of the woman involved; morally, nothing other than her wish in the matter is to be considered. Who can conceivably have the right to dictate to her what disposition she is to make of the functions of her own body?”

I think Obama should help Ryan out by airing a number of ads in the deep South quoting this wonderful quote, and others by his idol talking about her interesting views on Christianity while commentating on how she was Ryan's inspiration for entering public service(also who enters Public service after reading her works?).

As I am sure all those Conservative Fundamentalist Christians who are already uncomfortable supporting a Mormon will be overjoyed when hearing about the religious views of Romney's VP's philosophical idol.

Well? I think said groups will overlook the Morman part as they detest the President.

The abortion bit might not work as they will rush out and have him announce he doesn't follow Rand. Even though his "budget" says otherwise......

You guys would make awesome psychiatrists lol. Well, I support Romney simply because he is not Obama, Romney's more socially conservative than Obama so yippy and all that. From what I understand about Paul Ryan; however, his own ideas are fiscally stunning and I believe that, if anyone is going to have an idea (at this point) that would ease the national debt and assist America back to its feet, it will be Ryan.

Paul Ryan's budget doesn't actually balance the national budget until 2040, and requires that we add at least $6 trillion to our national debt. And that's assuming that revenue increases to the level it was it in 2007 immediately after the budget is passed.

Paul Ryan's plan, if implemented, would increase the US deficit by 300 billion, all the while giving the rich more tax cuts and gutting the social safety net, along with no decrease in military spending.

There are a lot of ways to describe the plan, none of them good. And social conservatism is a cancerous plague upon humanity.
