Well, i can't because i'm 17. And even if I could, i wouldn't just for the simple fact that i disapprove with some plans Obama has and plans that Romney has.

Let me reiterate that. Why can Obama keep his birth certificate on the DL but Romney must reveal all his taxes?

I don't care about Obama's BC BTW, just pointing out this ridiculous hypocrisy in that.

He never kept his Birth Certificate on the DL. He showed the same legal form that everyone does, and hoped to not have to respond to the insane and illogical race-baiting accusations that he was hiding something on the "long form". The fact that people are still bringing this up following the release of the long form goes to show that he was right, in that it was useless to play to that crowd.

I wonder what Obama's faith is.

I am too young to vote, I need to wait two more years before I can vote legally.

As a child in Indonesia, Obama studied for two years at one Muslim school and then two years at a Catholic school. In both places he experienced religious indoctrination, but in neither case did the indoctrination take hold: during Quranic studies he made faces and during Catholic prayers he would look around the room. Eventually, Barack Obama abandoned this non-conformism and skepticism to be baptized as an adult in the Trinity United Church of Christ.

The United Church of Christ emphasizes the freedom of the individual conscience over adherence to creeds or hierarchical authority. This is similar to traditional Baptist Christianity and something that is honored more in theory than in practice when it comes to the Southern Baptist Convention. Several historical creeds and catechisms are used by the United Church of Christ as statements of what their faith, but none are used as "tests of faith" which a person must swear upon.

Ran into an honest to goodness birther the other day! He started spouting off all this bullshit, like the Kenyan grandmother saying she was there (something so old I actually forgot why it was bullshit) and then on to some deal about how he can't be president with only one American parent or something...

...I was polite, but I made him look it up. "I don't remember that in the law, can you quote it for me?" Sure, he smugly goes about. Five minutes later he's reading off a FAQ that proves most of the shit he just spouted off to me wrong, including that where he was born was moot because his mother was an American citizen. He sorta went quiet after that. I wanted to rub it in, but instead I just enjoyed the fact that I unbirthered someone by quietly asking him to do some actual research that took all of five minutes.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

I've always found that to be the most proactive approach to fans of insane conspiracy theories. Rather than feed into their victim complex by shouting at them that they're morons, simply ask a few basic questions and watch them work themselves into a lather trying to respond.

He's United Church Of Christ, which is similar to some of the more liberal Baptist traditions, but directly opposite the more conservative ones. I've often heard UCC (inaccurately) called a church for Unitarian Universalists who don't think that it's a real church without a cross on the wall.

I'm pretty sure most black Baptist churches preach things that you would consider anathema to your beliefs as well.

Actually, even the ACLU contends that according to American law at the time, his mother was too young to have accrued the necessary number of years of residence in the US to pass on citizenship.
