No, lets don't. This is almost worse than the whole 'teleprompters' thing. It's common when trying to address a crowd to use some sort of rise so people in the back can see you as well. Lets not turn it into something stupid that will make us look stupid saying it.

No, Romney does it much more often than a normal politician would.

Well yes, but I'm not quite desensitized enough to stop offering mild encouragment to engage and give me more data on how utterly appalling that kind of mindset is.

I don't think Obama has ever made someone with MS stand on a chair in a small room where nobody is required to see him just so he can get nice pictures.

Oh...hey...a short photoset of Romney addressing crowds on some sort of riser. I can see how that's completely damning.

Yeah, let's all read way too much into this perfectly legitimate and common public speaking practice...
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Most of those shots are occasions where no sane person would see any need for a riser, and the one with Ann (who suffers from MS and is clearly frightened) is downright abusive.

If photos weren't viciously effective attacks then Dukakis and Kerry wouldn't have been shot down by their photo ops.

The fourth picture down with the staffer holding onto the chair could be potentially spun into an illustration of Romney's out-of-touch elitism, a vivid physical image of him standing on top of the lower classes.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Wasn't aware that was his wife. That's terrible. My cousin's ex-wife has MS and she has enough difficulty on solid footing.

Maybe because they don't want to screw people over?

I cannot believe you are debating Romney's decision to have his wife stand up in a chair... that's the kind of nonsense that makes MSNBC and Fox News grin.

Because Dukakis in a tank and Kerry parasailing was absolutely harmless.
