The VP candidate debates are not going to go well for Biden.

I imagine Joe will want to enjoy his moment of nostalgia.

Seriously, it will likely be a tough debate. That said, if Biden can trip up Ryan in such a way as to make him look inexperienced, especially in foreign or military affairs...

Granted, finding a good VP candidate with cross-party appeal in the Republican Party is hard nowadays, but I figured he would go for someone that can shore up his support in something other than white males.

Hard? No, it's not hard.

It's impossible.

There is no middle ground in America any more.

Not in the GOP, anyway. I expect there are a lot of voters that would love to disentangle fiscal conservatism from the mess that social conservatism has become, but the party faithful won't hear of it. You're either anti-gay and anti-regulation or you're not a Republican these days.

Going beyond that, I'd like to know what you think this choice says about Romney and the GOP. Did they dictate this choice to him or did he believe he was not getting his own base mobilized? Is Ryan intended to be the anchor to party while Romney tries to appeal to independents (laughable as that may be)? Is this choice a sign that Romney and his campaign are giving up on the rest of the voters in the country and trying to win on party votes alone?

I think it signals a further drift to the right and a bit of a gamble for the GOP in putting one of their young stars with Mitt. If he loses, Ryan is gonna fall hard and so will the Republicans that lean hard right.

That is true but Obama increased our commitement.

Still, Solyndra failed because the Chinese government spent billions of dollars trying to defeat American solar companies, and The Republicans in Congress, instead of accepting the challenge set forth by the Chinese, used Solyndra's failure to take a shot at the President.

Yes. However, Obama made the exact same mistake when introducing Joe Biden.

Reality has a liberal bias, remember?
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.
Where is your God-Emperor now?
