You are correct. I'll leave any more responses on that topic for it's own thread, if such a thread happens.

Exactly this. Ye gods, people. A request was made to split it out, but there's pages and pages to go through at this point. Kindly keep on topic, and if a discussion on fascism/human rights is desired, go create one rather than clutter this thread up with it, thank you.

I was about to ask for a split, but I guess that's redundant now.

So, Denmark is a great country and I applaud their move on this. I think more countries should follow their lead.

Hopefully they will. It seems like a lot of countries have it on the agenda for this decade.

If they moved even faster that'd be great, but I guess that's an unrealistic expectation.

Wonderful! I wonder if Denmark's civil partnerships have all the same legal benefits as marriage.

Doubtful. Most countries have differences between civil unions and civil marriage/religious marriage.

On the contrary, very few places have ever created a second-tier institution.

Are Norwegians really homophobic, or is that just Varg?

Because they hate liberty and the American WayTM.

Or because they want to give everyone equal rights. Beats me.

The whole Black Metal scene is homophobic, at least when it began. As for the rest of the country, they're Scandinavian.

So, Scandinavians per se don't care, and black metallers are the equivalent of the religious right despite the whole church-burning business.
