The other mods seem to post in unison, reinforcing the scary impression we Mortals have of a Mod Hive Mind.

The Bastard Mod threads are hamfisted parody. Nobody can do good parody when their cover is blown. The Bastard Mod From Hell stuff is ... self indulgent, trolling-nobody folderol. I found it boring.

Yeah, but I'm slow. I first experienced IRC about 1982, when I was quicker, but even then I thought "this medium is trying to hurry me" and did not like it.

It's like when water gets into the wires for your analog phone, and you have to listen to Reg from next door talking about his petunias if you want to use the phone. And then, just as you're trying wrap up your phone call, Kayleen from fuck knows where gets on the line, shouting, and getting replies from ... by the sound of it ... a lost mobile phone in the hold of a truck transporting live pigs.

I must admit I tend only to go on my region and my RP alliance's IRCs. There tends to be a handful of people on there who I've known (insofar as one can on the internet) for the last couple of years. This is usually conducive to decent conversation.

They seem OK considering I have like, no interaction with any of them, ever.

I think I've officially been warned like once by Kat for spamming. I forget what for but I know it was deserved. I don't think I've ever been unofficially warned though. I tried checking my warn level, but I couldn't find it, so I guess I don't have one.
