What was that about applying the rules fairly?

It's an opinion thread that's been fairly open in chattiness - there's ample flux in discussions, and generally it's due to the off-topicness having gone into very negative territory. That sort of thing ought to be discouraged. A bit of harmless fun often goes unpunished or at best, gently nudged back if it's gone on too long.

Of course some of us are still waiting for the proof of accusations and such, and haven't had much on-topicness to do on account. I made my explanation and request. I wasn't aware that having a sense of humor was against the rules, nor that everything had to be srs bsns 24/7.

If you have a problem, you're free to make a report and an uninvolved moderator will take a look at it.

That said - so, folks. What are your opinions, if you haven't already made them clear?

It was a nice way to wake up.

As for the others, I see no problem with them or have any complaints. They do their jobs well.

Allow me to yank this thread back on topic! Possibly with excessive force. Aaaaaall about the excessive force here.

Much to my chagrin, I had to vote "They are nice." And that is my problem! They're too damned nice! Mods should not be nice, moderators are tasked with the single sacred chore of inflicting unending suffering and torment on their victims! None of this willy-nilly silly funny business like letting their victims voice actual opinions! Next thing you know they'll be demanding things like equal rights and player suffrage! (I usually get "suffrage" and "suffering mixed up. Player suffering is something I can totally get behind. Player suffrage, on the other hand...) None of this tolerating "revolutions" aimed at overthrowing them! (As if that would even work, but it's the principle of the matter!) Hell, if I were the one in charge, I would forbid my victims from building walls of text complaining about pointless drivel.

Okay, maybe I'd let them build an entire fortress of words, but only so I could knock it down with a banhammer afterwards. Come on, I kick over little kids' sandcastles at the beach, after all; seems the same thing to me! So maybe the building materials and age range are different, but the point remains: let them work so very hard to make something, and then BREAK IT TO PIECES! And make sure it's clear that you're enjoying every second of their woe as their hard work crumbles to uselessness!

Instead, these useless hippies are all "We're players too!" and "We're not better or more special than anybody else!" PFFT! They should be lording their position and power over everyone with every single post! Their names should evoke fear and send the players fleeing in terror before them! At their appearance in a thread, the terrified silence should be so complete that not even crickets would dare to chirp! Players should cower in fear and terror, and be deleted immediately for the least of transgressions! (For instance, correcting a mod's speling. Insta-DEAT, right there, I tell you!) The only purpose players serve is that of a moderator's VICTIMS. Honestly, how they actually manage keep this site running completely eludes me.

Speaking truthfully here-

I've neve seen the mods act in a way I agree with, never heard of them doing something I agree with, and I've never heard anyone say anything good about them.

This includes what has occurred in this thread.

So, I have a pretty low opinion of them. I'd have to say they're the worst I've seen.
