NS reactions to E3

Postby The lepearchauns » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:12 pm

SO day 1 of E3 2012 is nearly over. What has stood out to you gamers of of NS?

Among announcements/showings/reveals ect. so far are:
Microsoft smart glass, all mobile devices able to link to 360
Halo 4
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Assassins Creed 3
Farcry 3
Resident Evil 6
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
Tomb Raider
Black Ops II
Sim City
Medal of Honor
Wii U controller
Battlefield 3 Premium
Watch Dogs
Need for Speed most wanted
Matter
Dead Space 3
Fable: The Journey
South Park
Forza Horizon
Gears of War Judgement
Crysis 3
Dishonored
Rayman Legends
ZombiU
Beyond: Two Souls(makers of Heavy Rain)
Playstation Allstars Battle Royale(Think smash bros for PS3)
PS3/Vita cross platform compatibility
God of War: Ascension
The last of Us (old trailer, not what was shown today)
Pikmin 3
New Super Mario Bros. U
WiiU hardware
Wii Fit U
3rd Party Games on the WiiU
Lego City: Uncercover
Just Dance 4
Nintendo Land
Scribblenauts unlimited
and much more(This list covers MOST of todays biggest news. Will continue updating through the week)...

Color denotes non franchise/sequel title(Original concept and title)

My personal favorites are Halo 4, Black ops II and my suprise favorite Watch Dogs. All 3 blew me out of the water. And yes, Im the kind of person who appreciates both Halo and CoD as separate entities  ZombiU also looked fantastic but I have no intention of buying a WiiU. However, they are starting to make me doubt that. cant wait for their presser tomorrow morning.

Your thoughts?

And those complaining about things not being announced, there are still 3 more days left. There were 4 major pressers today from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony. Individual studio announcements will still be coming for the next 3 days

(video links being added as I find them)

Holy shit that started? WHY THE FUCK DID NONE OF YOU TELL ME?

Erm, anyways, right now the only things on your list that I'm really interested in are Sim City, Black Ops II, and Halo 4. If Rock*, however, does not release something about GTA V before E3 ends, I am going to go totally batshit insane and kill someone.

Dishonored is the only one I am excited for. All of the others (especially the top 5), are simply old ideas rehashed with new names, slightly better graphics, and a few new names. E3 has been degenerating for a while now, and this year's was no exception.

Sim City looks interesting-always loved that series, and it looks like they learned their lesson with Societies. SC4 was a phenomenal game, and if they can build off of and modernize that, they'll have a winner. AC III should be solid, at least. The setting seems odd, but they can probably pull it off. The original Most Wanted was a great game, but I feel like the Need for Speed series has run its course.

Wow. That has to be the most uninteresting list of video game titles that I have ever seen. With each passing year, my complete distaste for mainstream gaming grows more and more. Last week, I played a twenty minute Flash game better than I'm sure all of these will be.

From the trailer that I saw, it seems that they haven't given up on city specialization (i.e creating a city with one theme) and they're trying to incorporate elements from Cities XL games.

So, I'm not really sure they learned their lessons yet.

What, no Company of Heroes 2? I'm pretty sure they were going to start dropping some more information right around E3 time, and considering Company of Heroes was one of the highest heralded RTS games of all time, I think CoH2 deserves some attention.

I agree that a lot of things disappointed me. But there were a few new games that have blown me away. Watch Dogs in particular is like Deus ex without robots. It looked sick. Halo 4 also blew me away. I know that I was expecting another halo, but 343 is really making me happy. I like Microsoft moving out of console and making tablets and smart phones part of their system. Its like a PS vita or WiiU that you already own.

Most disappointed with so far while Im sharing this, is RE 6 and Sony so far. RE6 looks like it had a bastard child with modern warfare. Its just sad. And halfway through Sonys conference they have shown nothing that I would spend money on

Im saddened that there arent more original titles, but the ones I have seen appear to be pretty epic. And the squeals Ive seen look pretty solid. I think Halo 4 could break some records if they keep up. Black ops look good, but I have a feeling that the time jump could either make or destroy the franchise for treyarc

The last of Us...holy F**king mother of god, The last of Us

That tears it. This one game wins E3 despite Sony laying a gigantic egg. it looked badass beyond compare. Uncharted meets I am legend meets grand theft auto. I envy PS3 owners all of a sudden

Nothing. I pay no attention whatsoever to vaporware, lies, and propaganda. None of these products actually exist, and skill in Photoshop and Movie Maker does not make a game. If these people put half as much effort into making games as they did on creating ridiculous flim-flam for the gullible, there would actually be amazing games, instead of this obvious fakery.
