I always knew those bastards were watching me every time I saw them. Good thing we're eating them though. We have displayed our dominance.

Yeah but they're just the weak version of their species, which is why they were guinea pigs for the first exploration of Earth. Their much more advanced masters are 50 times their size, and none too pleased we have subjugated their species into a generic tastes like everything meat.

We'll jus n00k all their base and invade all der planet. Aliens di3. We win.

Maybe.

1. It's "nuke" and "die," not "n00k" and "di3," respectively

2. What exactly do you mean? At our current technology level, the only thing we can actually do against an alien planet is send them a nastly nuclear surprise many, many years after the invasion of Earth, granted that something on our part or the aliens' part doesn't prevent impact and successful detonation. Comparing humanity to an alien power capable of planetary invasion may be like comparing a tribe of cavemen to the modern-day USA.

First, why would they come? It can't be water or metals. Those can easily be found elsewhere in the solar system where the aliens wouldn't have to deal with angry natives shooting nukes at them.

The only logical reasons would be to study earth (life-bearing worlds aren't exactly the most common kind) or to settle here, taking advantage of a ready-made biosphere. If it's the latter, it would be in their best interest to wipe us out.

First thing I'd do is learn to live and fight Amish-style. EMP strikes can cripple entire cities and militaries.

Second, stay away from coastal areas. If they can launch something really heavy into out oceans, you can say goodbye to our coastal cities.

Third, stay away from heavily-populated areas. If they can travel light years to come here, they might be able to whip up a supervirus after doing a little research.

Fourth, nukes are almost useless in space. Most of their destructive power comes from generating a massive shockwave. There's a better idea and, yes, it involves nukes. Basically, dig a bunch of really deep holes in the right places at the right angles. Put a nuke at the bottom and fill them with water. Cap them with huge metal plates. Detonate the nukes, which will quickly convert the water into steam. The pressure will launch the plates into space at super-high speeds. They'll do more damage than nukes alone.

Yes, I saw that program on the science channel. It was stupid how they didn't let the nuke detonate when it hits the ship. You only detonate them a few hundred feet away when there's atmosphere.

If there was no chance of success, I'd imagine we'd go underground, wait for them to make landfall, and then set off every nuke on the planet to take as many of them out as we can and render much of the planet destroyed.

Underground = Bad idea.

You see, humanity was smart enough to know that, during wars, people are going to build bunkers. Worse, they're going to build bunkers under tons of dirt. Cause some people thought the brown material that is broken by the slap of a twig was enough to stop a multiple-pound bomb. Whatever.

Now, that is humanity. We're pretty stupid, when you come to think of it, so aliens? They'd fuck us over.
Like...
Seriously.

I'd see an invasion of Earth to be similar to the Reapers' invasion in Mass Effect. I'm not gonna go deep into details, for those people that haven't played (or for those people that feel the need to poke at whoever likes even the slightest part of the game), but, basically, they attacked the major cities to break the economy, and, at the same time, attacked important military locations; bases (obviously), construction sites (obviously) and nuclear silos (I feel as if I didn't need to say that one). I mean, Mass Effect is Mass Effect, so, even without these things, humanity kept fighting on Earth relatively well, but, in reality, it wouldn't be like that. We'd get our asses whooped pretty quickly.
Especially if they're as advanced as the Reapers...

If I am in charge of any important guns we'll probably be screwed even if they do attack like that, because I quite often missed that one last ship zipping across the screen.

Again, they'll get 7 billion across with ease, because, like I said:

The New World Oceania wrote:They're not gonna send a cylinder and a few tripods to knock us up a bit. They're going to send this big ass ship.

And when I say "big ass ship," I don't mean like this:

No, I mean something like this:

Weaknesses? They won't have any. Sorry, but these guys aren't going to show up and say "I hope they don't discover that our weakness is love!"

Oh, and if the ET's have any sense, they'll stay out of New York

I have a big ass ship. I drop a bomb on New York.

We're screwed. Unless...
