Well, while reading through the things that I read, things that I do not know why I read, things that at my age, I probably shouldn't worry myself about, things that 50 year old mathematicians cannot figure out, etc...

I found this...

Link here...

The most historically significant function to remain unsolved and has a $1,000,000 prize according to the Clay Mathematics Institutes 'Millennium Question Prize'. Well, many of the worlds top mathematicians, if not all, have tested this and are still unable to find the answer.

Image

Why do you think that is? Is infinity involved in the equation and thus renders the equation unsolvable? Or is it simply we cannot process this information with the current state of technology?

Even if we could, is it really that important? Discuss...

The Riemann hypothesis is certainly not A2-level maths but I beleive there is going to be a countably infinite number of zeros since the function goes on forever and ever, but if s had a positive value then that can be solved because if s=1, for example, anything positive, then an estimate can be obtained.

Your funny little symbols are meaningless to me. You would do better to fetch your fattest, most succulent pig for the roast tonight. Aye. And get me my ale. Use the Mickey Mouse cup. And the squiggly straw.

Also, me.

Infinite and infinitesimal processes are involved in plenty of solvable mathematics problems.
A little homework for you!

What part of L(f(t)) = Int(exp(-s*t)*f(t),t,0,inf) don't you understand?

Yeah it is, It has a variable on both sides, effectively the end of my mathematical knowledge, :lol2:

One of the variables, Zeta, is just being defined by the equation. Are you also scared of y = mx + b?

We already know that that doesn't work everywhere. In fact, just add curvature and it goes to shit.

I know the answer. Its 42 *nod*
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.- Carl Sagan
