It is, incidentally, spelled Dr Pepper, without the period. I kid you not.

What do you call your soft drinks?
Just softdrinks, soda, cokes... (pains me to say this, lol) pop?
I generally say coke, like most in the South, but, Im picking up soda, just because its more descriptive (ive often sent drinks back when they actually gave me a coca cola when I said coke, lol) and I dont like brand dominance...
How bout you?
I use soda.
Soft drinks is also correct, but less used in NYC.
Pop seems to be a Southern/Midwestern thing in the US of A, if my travels have taught me anything.
Coke is a BRAND of soda. It is a brand of the subset of soda that is called COLA. It is not a catchall word for Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Seven-Up, Mountain Dew, Dr. Brown's, or anything else, got it? I'm looking at YOU, Texas!
Odd, I have found that to be more prevalent up here in the northeast.
And don't remind me of people ordering such things a sprite-coke.
Not a South-Midwestern thing. Of course my experience of the south tends to be right down I-95 from NY to Sarasota.

But of course. It's my "coke" of choice.

Wait a moment, and what did you expect them to send you, bags of cocaine powder?

Bah, Buffalo. What's up there but snow and the Bills?
WE got Broadway, Museums, Radio City Music Hall and all the celebrities you can eat. We're right, you're wrong, end of story.

Hmmmm. Chicago has pleasant temperatures right now, no earthquakes to speak of, but a high crime rate. 'Course, in my town we have pretty much a zero crime rate unless you count TPing. Looks like pop just won!

Did I mention gusts of hot winds, that start fires and drive people crazy! And make September our hottest month!
