Diets

Postby NotnotgnimmiJymmiJ » Fri Sep 25, 2009 7:16 am

Are you on one? Have you ever been on one? Go on them often? How strict are your diets, do you cheat? Low carb, low calorie, low fat, etc.? Supplement with exercise?

I just went on a diet for the first time. Basically cut out carbs completely. No grains, no sugar, no potatoes, etc. Forced to eat meat (low fat stuff like chicken and turkey) and veggies all day long. It's only been like 3 days and it sucks but I haven't cheated yet.

I'm on a seefood diet.
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.
The Parkus Empire: Being serious on NSG is like wearing a suit to a nude beach.
New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

There are carbs in meat and veggies. You can't avoid carbs unless you avoid eating.

Quit screwing around with your diet. Eat a balanced diet and run a mile or two a day like a healthy person.

I'm on a diet currently. It's not really much, but it has worked so far. I have substituted a lot of my regular food with raw food: fish, vegetables, fruits, tofu. My liquid intake consists of water and green tea after dinner. I have lost 17 lbs. so far. My goal is to lose 30 lbs.

When I say "no carbs" I mean that I cut out stuff that's high in carbs obviously. If you look at how we evolved, grains and sugars really have no place in a "balanced diet." Cavemen never ate bread and pasta.

Only eating healthy and having a balanced diet works. Exercise is a must too.

About as much as I believe in cell theory, why?

I think that's less a question of belief and more one of understanding it....
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

5/7 diet. 5 days on, 2 days off per week. No gorging. Daily diet consists of 1 boiled egg, four slices wheat toast, a spoonful of marmite and a rice vermicelli broth garnished with leafy vegetables, garlic and a boiled chicken drumstick spread out through the day. No added oils. Minimum 30 minutes of hard cardiovascular exercises 3-4 times a week.

+25 kilos lost, and weight continues to drop.

Yup, the fact that people choose to use the short way to say things based on the assumption that other people will understand them and not complain is truly up there on the list of the worlds problems right alongside genocide and torture :/

Yeah but they did though, from about 750,000 years ago, possibly earlier, onwards.

Being unable to articulate what you mean is a real problem. Saying things that are inaccurate and mislead because you "don't have time" to communicate effectively is a huge problem.

I won't hijack your thread anymore. I should probably not have said anything in the first place.

It's not unusual. For instance in school we categorized foods in certain ways, so things like potatoes and pasta were classified as carbohydrates, where as things like chicken were classed as something else (I forget what it was).

I'm on a sugar diet. I try my best to eat sugary products everyday, but unfortunately I have cheated a little so far. I weigh ~200lbs and my goal is to reach at least 240lbs.

A diet is self-denial. Fortunately, I'm such a sweet fellow I haven't the heart to deny myself anything.
