My apologies and condolences.

My reply was somewhat facetious. In reality it's been a bit of both. A first class degree and a distinction at masters level is not something to be sniffed at. Conversely, once I worked out I could "win" most easily at academics I stopped doing everything else. So when I ran out of money for more education I had no relevant experience of doing anything else and a strong sense that the "real world" of work isn't on the list of things I can "win" at, leading to mass lazyness and procrastination as I desperately fumble trying to avoid something I do not believe myself capable of succeeding at to a high level.

On second thoughts, the catchy, short version I posted originally was shorter, catchier, less pathetic and ultimately lost little of the core content and tone. I should always talk in soundbites. Soundbites are underrated.

It comes from brain damage I suffered as a baby. My skull didn't form completely right, and some of the bone plates were pressing up against my brain.

I have a problem balancing on something with a width of less than three of my fingers. If I could get ahold of the time and materials, I could MacGyver a bike to accomodate me.
