It's another way to solve an equation. This is really useful when there's an equation that's hard to integrate or derivate.

It's used to find the convergence. I think I worded that wrong. If you don't know what a convergence is, well I don't really wanna explain that as it will be confusing.

Just imagine that if you were to add 1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 +..., you will converge into some number.
Disregard that, I forgot that was the harmonic series. So that one actually diverges, the opposite of convergence.

However, other series can converge. Like alternating series. The one that goes add, subtract, add, subtract.
