Does that really matter in the long run? Not really. The point is people still admonish others to take care of what they do/view with the mentality that other people may see it. Whether those other people are deities recounting the number of times you lied to your mum or your buddy John who finds out you have a dozen porn sites bookmarked in your browser, half of which end with types of livestock, the intent is the same, and we take that admonishment seriously.

Although I must admit I laugh every time I hear people say something like, "Would you watch that if Jesus was in the room with you?", as I've seen the picture of Jesus correcting someone's spelling of a porn site and I can never forget it when they say that.

It's another way to solve an equation. This is really useful when there's an equation that's hard to integrate or derivate.
