And that the intro to yoshi's island is the Soviet national anthem in Midi format.

I know how that feels.

There's a guy I used to jam with frequently, though I stopped for the most part for that very reason. I would be doing my best to get rhythms and licks going for both of us to play off each other, but it would inevitably devolve into me playing some horribly basic 12 bar 4/4 rhythm so he could play lead nonstop. And I do mean nonstop: after I'd eventually just get tired of playing the same fucking rhythm line for 20 minutes, I'd make up a short ending and stop. But him? He'd keep going with his lead line for about two minutes on his own.

Ugh.

I take it that Bowser represents the burgeois capitalis pigdogs, and that Mario's task is to redistribute all his coins to those little dinosaur things.

I learned today that the German TV personality Jumbo Schreiner was once member of the (fake) Finnish hip-hop group R.I.P Uli.

That was a time, when playing proper puns on TV shows involved real hard work. Today they are so much used to buy anything you throw at them, that you don't even need a water tight alternative identity for it... back then, they even had a song and a video done, only for doing some kind of candid camera on a music television.

I've learned that some people would rather rant and rave, accuse you of trolling and ignore you than discuss something that you have taken issue with them over.

And in a strange twist of fate, that person doing the rant/rave/ignore tango was not me.

I learned that Wittgenstein is a pain in the ass to read, but that his ideas advanced in Tractatus, properly understood, are reasonable as a minimalist metaphysical framework.
Cool shit here, also here.

I also learned that I understand quite a lot of what is written there.
