I got quite annoyed after the Haiti earthquake. A baby was taken from the wreckage and people said it was a miracle. It would have been a miracle had God stopped the earthquake. More wonderful was that a load of evolved monkeys got together to save the life of a child that wasn't theirs. ~Terry Pratchett

Innate portion? Yes it is, we are all born as born as animals.

Prove it. You can't. It's a word issue.

If I use the word differently you quite simply can't be correct, and I can't be wrong because it isn't an issue of fact, it's an issue of labeling.

We are animals, we are eukaryotic organisms, we share portions of our DNA with animals. We don't photosynthesise, we digest. Our cells lack cell walls, we are animals.

As I said, that's all temporary.

life is temporary, humans included.

And it is quite obvious we are all born (I am aware of in-vitro fertilisation but we come out of a woman's womb nonetheless).

So you are like Bluth and his 'Christianity' ?
Well I don't think any primate is animal, you can't prove that's wrong, can you?

But currently we are animals.

Personally I don't care. Animals aren't all that interesting to me. Call primates what you will.

Except animals don't have the capacity to ever change. Therefore humans aren't animals. Similar perhaps.

sure they do. many animals use tools, some invent new concepts, and of course all evolve.

heck chimps hunt with spears.

Quit argueing a strawman point. I specifically meant change between kingdoms.

which does happen, kingdoms are not true groupings, some kingdoms are actually part of other ones. Which is why that system is more or less vestigial at this point abd has been replaced by cladistics.

With our luck, the Post-Human Self-awareness TechnoPlatform will have an operating system by Microsoft and we'll all be stuck reliving the memories of Crispin Glover until the patch is available in ten million eons.

notice I struck that you can make a biological system that is just as good, if not better. heck humans are already pretty good in vaccum, we just need an avian breathing system and a nictitating membrane

Heh, right. The patch was designed to fix the inability to take the form of a chrome-covered female version of Abraham Lincoln, but once you install the patch you can only take the form of a chrome-covered female version of Abraham Lincoln.
