This might be a preconception, but I would imagine that there's already a pretty thriving black market in ammunition as it stands. The question is whether the current gun nuts would rather see their money going to Government or to OMG EBIL TERRORISTS.

You gotta give him that one at least, that would provide quite a large increase in tax revenue. If you think about the whole "black market" side of this issue, how many respectable gun owning citizens are going to go to that desperate length? It's more likely they only keep a box or two in the house for trips down the gun club or "protection".
