Well, time for everyone to hate me.

1. Take an axe to the US' military budget
It's somewhere in the region of WAY TOO FUCKING LARGE. Pull it back, significantly. Ideally I'd want to see it cut as much as 50%, but I'll settle for a much more modest 25% reduction. The US doesn't need a military larger than the rest of the world's combined.

2. Cut corporate welfare, as it is.
Instead, put money into the corporation by scooping up stocks. Allow them to be sold back, at the cost originally purchased. This would help "save" companies that are "too bit to fail", but without it being a shaky "loan" that will likely never be repaid.

3. Decriminalize, regulate and tax all recreational drugs.
It would likely serve to reduce crime motivated by needing money for their drugs. It would also cut money from organized crime and make drug use/purchasing overall safer.

4. Decriminalize & regulate prostitution.
It's safer, healthier and less exploitative this way for the workers. It helps cut out flat out abusive parasitic elements of the *cough* "profession" and makes things overall safer.

5. Remove the tax exempt status of certain religious groups
In particular the ones that are overtly corporate in nature, or overtly hate groups. The Westboro Baptist Church springs violently to mind for the second group. They can say what they'd like, but they shouldn't effectively be compensated by the government for hate speech.

4. Pump money into infrastructure.
The first two steps would result in a fair bit of cash flow for other things. Things that actually help people. Education, for example, as well as public health care could use some loving. Maybe remove the rather terrible toll roads from use.

5. Higher standards for teachers. Pay them higher wages.
I think this one almost goes without saying. Teachers in the US are paid shockingly little for the work they do, and the standards for them is likewise low.

6. Legalize same-sex marriage federally.
Marriage equality, fuck yeah. There's literally no valid reason this isn't happening.

7. Open talks about the extent of the second amendment.
This really needs to be done: Honest discussion about how far the second amendment's supposed to reach and action on it. That way there could be a LITTLE less argument on the topic.

8. Reopen the constitution for updating in general.
The constitution, although an interesting document, is growing steadily out of date, irrelevant. Many important rights, such as the right of bodily autonomy and the right to privacy aren't guaranteed anywhere in US law. Rectify this.

9. Work against municipal smoking bans
The only place "government" has any real room to ban smoking in would be government owned buildings. Banning smoking in someone's bar they own, you may as well ban smoking in their home.

10. Ban genital mutilation on small children
Regardless of sex. Boys and girls both deserve equal protection under the law.

11. Actively work against creationism in schools
I forgot that this was actually an issue in the US. Added it.

That's everything.

This plan. I like it.

Cut all unnecessary spending, raise taxes, eliminate every law that doesn't prevent one individual from harming another.

If you stretch the definition enough, anything can be 'done' by private citizens. You might as well remove government from the equation.

In most cases that's exactly what should happen. There are however plenty of things that cannot be done by private citizens. Enforcement of the law and defense of the nation being chief among them.

You can call it whatever you want, it'd be a whole hell of a lot of money. Anyone with a law degree would cream their pants, because there's about to be a lot of paid busy work being made available to them.

I don't see why private citizens couldn't do that. I wouldn't want them doing it, certainly, but it isn't impossible.

I'm not arguing it's cheap I'm arguing it's necessary, we dug a big hole creating pointless laws and trying to legislate morality and now we have to fill it back in.

I disagree. It's just not possible for private citizens to assert their authority, have it recognized, and enforce it fairly without being enumerated that power by a legitimate source.

Taxes:

Reduce the number of tax breaks overall leaving only agricultural tax breaks and those for lower income people.
Since taxes for the wealthy would be sky high I would bring those down to 20%

Middle income tax breaks would also be cut except for Farmers. Middle income taxes would go down to 13%.

Cut Corporate taxes to 25% and cut any breaks

This makes the tax code alot simpler and easier to process

Foriegn:
Take a tougher stance on China's currency manipulation and work with leaders to bring it down. If they refuse put tariffs on any Chinese goods also made in America.

Help Israel take a single stance against Iran supporting any action it may take. Supporting Israel all the way in any action it wishes to take against Iran.

In Afghanistan gather Generals and discuss the war, how its going, how do we shorten it, etc.

Remove all foreign aid.

Social:

Give Social Issues back to the people, allowing and encouraging referendums on Gay Marriage to decide state laws. Ban abortion except for cases of rape, incest, or at the life of the mother.

Help curb the Government war on religion, further protecting religious organizations from taxes and persecution.

Stop the vast government removal of historic symbols that are also religious. These symbols are part of our history and should be perserved.

Medicare-Healthcare:

Implement the Ryan Healthcare plan which guarantees current seniors the right to keep their plans but allows future patients to enroll in Private Medicare accounts. The Government would give a voucher that they would normally receive under the current system. As such, wealthier seniors get less and poorer seniors get more.

Repeal Obamacare and don't raid Medicare funds. Though it does cut costs it doesn't account for the loss of seniors.

Ban Malpractice Suits as these are driving of Medical costs.

Social Security:

Cut Social Security for the Superrich

Downsize Social Security for the wealthy

Slightly and Moderately increase SS for the poor and middle class.

Give people the option of a Private Voucher System in which retirees receive their normal payments but instead but them into a Private account.

Increase retirement age for Social Security to 67 of the course of four years. Going 1 month up every two months.

Budget:

Cut all discretionary spending by 10%-15%

Work to privatize large roads so that they can be repaired.

Cut all Federal Welfare direct funds that still remains and give Welfare all back to the States if it isn't there already.

Allow States to drug test Welfare patients and assign preapproved food lists, we wont give you money for alcohol and drugs.

Work with the Military to bring down waste, ie the army hiring private Iraqi contractors to build a small bridge instead of having Engineers from the Army do it.

Protect the Military from massive automatic cuts

Economy:

Take a firm stance against Bailouts, if any company fails its their fault, we will not protect them

Stop the Banks price pumping packages that are inserted into the economy, let it recover naturally without interference

Review the Federal Reserve, tell them to control inflation only, the cannot cure unemployment and inflation. Trying to do both backfires.

Education and Jobs:

Give Government Grants to those individuals who wish to go back to school to get a college degree

Encourage factory workers to get a college degree, replace the manufacturing economy with a service economy is the end goal

Crack down on Unions who drive of wage prices. The US is past manufacturing factory items, its time to service machines instead

Give Corporate tax breaks to those companies that produce goods in the US

OK, getting back to seriousness. I've answered everything I didn't think was an absolutely awful idea. In other words, everything you see below is something I would either partially consider or what I agreed with wholeheartedly.

Moving Forward Inc wrote:
Personal freedoms/rights:

LGBT Equality (Gay marriage):
Give equality at all costs, supporting gay marriage if that is the best option at the time.

When would doing this ever not be the "best" option?

Legalize all drugs:
Allow all drugs, Marijuana, Cocaine, Meth, anything, to be sold as long as the supplier pays Sales/GS tax and Income tax.

I'm not so sure that you should eliminate the entire concept of controlled/restricted substances. At the very least you have to control what's crossing the border into other countries and set up standards for operating heavy machinery (analogues to our current blood-alcohol standards).

Legalize all consensual sex:
This includes Prostitution, LGBT sex, Group sex, Incest, whatever, allow it without restrictions.

No kids. No animals. Presumably these limits are covered by your use of "consensual", but it bore mentioning just in case.

Allow all abortion up to 20 weeks and ban all after that:
Allow exceptions for cases of rape.

Not sure why the 5 month mark, but most abortions take place way before that point so I suppose it's moot. A rape victim should definitely be able to get an abortion within a time limit of 5 months if they're not restricted by legal, social, or financial pressures, but I imagine this exception could help in the event that such pressures prevent them from doing so. But why only rape victims past the 5 month mark?

Economic freedoms/rights:

Didn't like any of it, really.

Political freedoms/rights:

1. Get rid of the state system and make the elections based on the decisions of the whole nation.

I don't know how well the US would work as a unitary state, to be honest. I'd be willing to consider that option, but I haven't given it too much thought.

2. Destroy all filibustering, state funding of politicians, the two-party elections system, and allow anonymous donations to politicians.

Alternative proposal that deals with everything not related to campaign funding: do away with presidentialism and replace it with either a semi-presidential or entirely parliamentary system. As for the campaign funding proposals: (a) Eliminate state funding of politicians: Yes ; (b) Allow anonymous donations to politicians: No.

Adopt Ryan's medicare plan.
Withdraw bases from Europe.
Increase regulations on alcohol and tobacco, change focus of drug war from users to suppliers and plantations.
Seal the border with Mexico by any means necessary. Adopt an amendment decreeing you must be born to one US citizen to gain natural citizenship if born in America, and born to two citizens if not born in America.
End affirmative action.
Revoke farm subsidies, and end bailouts.
Make Congress a non-paying occupation and limit to two terms for a Senator and five fora a Representative.
Drastically decrease the power of federal unions.
Cut pensions significantly.
Remove NDAA and the Patriot Act.
Pass an amendment decreeing that free speech on the Internet, even in condition of anonymity, is to be protected.
Increase transparency by providing all bills in consideration to public scrutiny on the internet.
A bill must be read in entirety before being passed; thus limiting extreme debacles like Obamacare where no one has read the whole thing.
Cut taxes for all Americans, especially income and business taxes.
Increase regulations on insurance and banks, remove the Community Reinvestment Act.
Adopt a non-aggressive but wary stance in the Middle East; avoid military action unless certain of impending hostile attack.
Refuse to abide by UN legislation and decrease funding and support. Remove the Headquarters from New York. Increase ties to Switzerland, Austria and other neutral nations.
Halve active troops in Afghanistan; shift combat focus to destruction of enemy than occupation, leave that to ANA troops. Send more special operations teams.
Leave gay marriage and other social issues such as abortion to state vote.
Cut foreign aid significantly.
Match import tariffs from other countries. Adopt tax incentives for local production.
Decrease regulation on oil fracking technologies.
Moonbase; research focus on human psychology, effects of lower gravity, radiation protection and maintaining essentials. Scan for rare minerals and publish findings publicly.

Taxation.
Taxation will be raised by taxation on consumption and death duties. There is not going to be a lot of tax on Wonderbread. But boy oh boy - Gulfstreams and Hummers are going to be taxed just like cigarettes. Income tax and corporation tax and other forms of taxation on income: to be abolished. However - consideration will be given to a payroll tax. Make no mistake in believing that I propose a reduction of taxation. I intend no such thing.

Education.
State Education to go out and stay out.
Perpetrators of so called campus speech codes to be proscribed.

Affirmative action.
To be abolished forthwith.

Obamacare.
To be abolished forthwith.

New Family Values.
Return the issues to the States.
States to be entirely free in seeking to be Utah or Vermont.

Federal Payroll.
To be axed by reducing number of hours worked and paid.
Only exceptions: law enforcement and military.

Courts.
No one other than a Strict Constructionist to be eligible for any judicial function under any condition.

Further reduction of Federal Payroll.
Careful consideration of what Government functions are indispensable.
All those that are not indispensable to be dispensed with forthwith.

Federal involvement in economic stimuli.
To be terminated forthwith.

Role in UN
Same as for the UK - immediate withdrawal, expel from American territory.

Nafta
To be maintained.

Immigration Control and War on Terror.
No silliness of trying to stop Mexicans.
Instead, border to be permanently closed to all anti-Zionist,anti capitalist or anti globalist elements.

Monetary policy: the aim is to make long term average inflation zero.zero percent. That means - of course - no quantitative easing and such.

Patriot Act - if still existing.
To be abolished. I read the darned thing. x-hundred pages on what the Government is allowed to do and not a word on how or when or who and so forth. Incredible load of rubbish - written by some preposterous bunch of undergraduates?

A point I cannot let pass unchallenged: a Republican Army is an Army where the primacy of Politics goes unchallenged. Strategy will not be set in the Pentagon but in the White House. The basic problem of the War on Terror is an unwillingness to define clear terms of what constitutes a Victory in the political sense. Once you have that defined, the rest is always ncredibly straightforward. Meanwhile, any general - such as Crystal - who has a problem seeing things in McArthurian terms to be gotten rid off.

I did not believe that I would ever think kindly of Dubyah. Obama made me appreciate the Shrub.
Joseph Stalin, 20 million plus dead -Mao-Tse-Dong, 40 million plus dead - Pol Pot, 2 million dead -Kim-Il-Sung, 5 million dead - Fidel Castro, 1 million dead.

"Remove NDAA"? Do you know what the National Defense Authorization Act even is?
"Cut foreign aid significantly" ... from one-tenth of one percent of the budget down to what?
"Cut taxes for all Americans, especially income and business taxes." Income taxes are as low as they have been in decades.
"Moonbase; research focus on human psychology, effects of lower gravity, radiation protection and maintaining essentials." With what money, you just slashes taxes.
"Scan for rare minerals and publish findings publicly." Do you think someone has found tons of "rare minerals" on the Moon and is hiding the information? Anyway, you just slashed taxes, we can't afford it.

Legalize gay marriage.
Leave Roe v. Wade as it is for the pure reason that girls will get abortions anyways (I abhor abortion personally)
Legalize Marijuana.
Encourage small business and free markets.
Deglobalization would also be nice.
Lower taxes (mainly for the lower and middle class, but a small decrease forthe upper class)
Delegate more power to the private sector.
Dyakovo's plan on removing religious institutions as a whole from the tax free classificaiton, but if Churches play an active part in helping their community outside the realm of evangelizing, they would remain tax free (in effect, 95% of Churches would remain tax free.)
Cutting government programs that are unnecessary (that could vary, depending on the time and situation of the nation), and putting the funds towards education.

<Koyro> (Democratic Koyro) NSG senate is a glaring example of why no one in NSG should ever have a position of authority

Economics

•Implement a mainly Mercantilist system, especially in the Union's territories.
•As a part of the new system, raise tariffs on all imported goods, but raise them especially high on goods from China.
•Pass a law or laws that make it so that mega-corporations and chains such as Wal-Mart cannot build in towns under a certain population, to protect small business.
•Begin breaking up Wal-Mart and other such mega-corporations and chains, forcing them out of small towns and such.
•Begin subsidising (with small amounts) small businesses, and encourage people to begin their own businesses and employ locals.
•Abolish the Federal Reserve, and return to either the gold or silver standard.
•Deregulate offshore drilling, while inflicting massive penalties on companies that have incidents such as the BP oil spill.

Government

•Implement strict laws about who may vote, though they may not be related to race, creed, gender, &c. Make IDs compulsory for voting, and make said voting laws related to intelligence and knowledge about government and economics.
•Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment to the Constitution.
•Repeal the Affordable Care Act (or whatever it's technical name is) and implement a universal healthcare system.
•Outlaw the death penalty.
•Implement punishments such as flogging (private for women, public for men) for petty crimes such as theft.
•Implement a simpler income tax system, with those making under $50,000 a year paying 15%, those under $250,000 paying 20%, and those above $250,000 paying 25-30%.
•Prohibit women from serving in combat roles in all branches of the federal military.
•Redirect more of the military budget to the salaries of those serving, instead of building so many more ships and such.
•I'm sure someone is going to ask, so uphold the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
•Drop the voluntary enlistment age to 16.
•Pass laws stating that anyone who is caught driving or operating a vehicle or plane while under the influence will have their license revoked for five years, those who drive (or fly) without a license will be jailed for two-six years, and those that cause another person's death or grievous injury will be jailed for life.
•Begin using corporal punishment in schools again, and teach discipline and morality along with other subjects.
•Put the schools (still controlled by the states) under federal supervision, sending federal inspectors on surprise visits to schools several times a year and observing their students' records, and sending extra funds to those schools that are not doing well. Set high standards, so that, as a NS issue says, "even the smart students will sweat."
•Redirect a lot of the welfare budget to helping people find jobs.
•Abolish term limits.
•Outlaw "Executive Orders," except with approval from the Senate.
•Pay off foreign debt by heavily taxing marijuana, and redirecting 10% of each of the budgets (environment, military, &c) to it. Leave that debt held by U.S. citizens.
•Let private companies keep up (not own) national parks and forests, in return for governmental recognition and thanks (big-time advertising).
•Return to the PATRIOT Act's original form.
•Reduce corruption in government by punishing bribery and other such crimes with removal from public office, banning from ever holding public office again, and being arrested and imprisoned for 10-20 years.
•Pass laws stating that only those born in the United States or one of their territories may hold public office in any capacity.
•Retake the Panama Canal, and various other former territories. Encourage Britain, France, and Germany to do the same.
It's ours. The only reason Panama is even a country is because we wanted a canal there and Columbia said no.

Social

•Repeal Roe vs. Wade, making the killing of the unborn illegal except in cases that endanger the mother's life.
•Pass a law or laws giving the state government freedom to crush any riot or protest it deems appropriate, and allow the state to request federal troops if they deem it necessary.
•Keep the federal government out of marriage, and let each state decide what laws to make about the institution.
•Legalise marijuana and tax it heavily to pay off the debt to foreign countries.
•Repeal the ban on automatic weapons.
•Pass a federal law saying that it is legal to use lethal force on someone invading your property.
•Prohibit persons that have a criminal record relating to violent crimes and those with mental disorders from owning firearms.
•Ask each state to up their police budget (and possibly give them money to do so), to put more men on the streets especially in the 'bad parts' of the cities.
•Legalise duelling with government-approved seconds.
•Pass a federal law effectively repealing all state laws stating that restaurants and stores must have separate rooms and ventilation for those who want to smoke, or that you may not smoke in certain areas (excluding doctor's offices and hospitals).
•Outlaw euthanasia.
•Repeal all federal laws and judgements regarding religion, deeming them unconstitutional according to the First Amendment.
•Have rapists castrated. Condition: Those who are "rapists" according to the law basically saying that if you have sex with someone underage it was rape should be exempt from this.
•Outlaw bestiality.
•Strictly implement the Smith Act, and vigorously and enthusiastically punish treason and sedition.
•Implement the United Kingdom's alcohol laws.

There's probably more I'll add to it, so, yeah.
I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do.

Blimey! I've found someone who is in favour of the UK's alcohol laws. None of us here like it - although for obviously different reasons.
- One lot believes we must ban cheap booze to stop binging.
- another lot believes we should have certain hours without alcohol sales.
- and yet another ( including me ) believes you can drink whatever you want provided you confine your binging to the inside of a properly licensed public house, preferably as far away from our homes as possible so we don't have to listen to rave, hip hop, or see animals puking in the streets.

Non-binge versions of drinking in the UK seem to be pretty much limited to Mass given in both Kinds.
