That is essentially saying it's her fault.

However this whole "you were dressing like a slut that's why you got raped" is a load of nonsense.

How she is dressed does make a difference, furthermore, you never even addresses my comment about porn.
I know that I may sound insensitive, but let me get points across.

can you show me in areas where Porn is banned and non existant... that rape statistics are at 0.

or is this more of your brand of 'common sense'?

The punishment for rape should be the death penalty. Then there will be less mouths to feed in prison; less tax payer's money.

And as it has been stated earlier, if the punishment was death, then this would encourage rapists to kill their victims, for dead people can not talk, let alone testify against them in a court of law.

the death penalty is more expensive than life imprisonment, but this isn't the thread for that.

goddamn what is it with me and tangential posting in this thread!!!

Basically, it means don't act like an asshole because this is a rather sensitive subject, IIRC.

If a woman, or girl who is not ugly wears something revealing, or somewhat attractive, a guy ( including my self) will find her attractive. If someone is attractive, you'd want to have sex with them.
Now a rapist is an insane and evil person, that cannot resist temptation, and will resort to violent methods of having sex with the girl. Furthermore, porn increases people's awareness of what sex is, and might increase their desire for it.

Not necessarily.

I just wanted to put it on there so people know that they can come in here without people trolling too hard (and as a warning to the potential trolls) that this is a sensitive subject, and that people may come in and express opinions, but to be respectful about it.

This is another reason why porn should be banned. It leads to rape. This is also why people need to have guns and other weapons, so they can defend them selves from being raped, murdered, etc.

Now, it is still the fault of the rapist, even if you were dressed skimpily. It is wrong, and a sin, and he knew it.

Please Jesus Christ tell me I did not just read this bull shit. Honey you best be jokin', but just in case you're not. Let me tell you a little something.

How a girl is dressed should not matter. It does not matter. Rape is not about sex. Rape is about power. Sex is the weapon. Whether or not a girl was dress "provocatively" does not matter. Ugh. That is just so much bull shit I can't even. You're wrong. By the way, I was wearing black jeans and a t-shirt. So take your shit elsewhere if you can't stop being so ignorant.

Also, lol about the porn. Thousands and millions of people watch porn. Not all of them become rapists. So no. Wrong again.

That's ridiculous. Telling girls that they shouldn't be dressing however they want, or going out at night, because they might be raped, is ridiculous. Why don't we start teaching our boys that if they rape someone, we'll light them on fire?

I think when men are raped they are ashamed because its not supposed to happen to them, you always hear of women getting raped but never a man. That's my guess as to why men tend not to talk about or report what happened.

Rape isn't 'supposed' to happen to anyone, male or female.Take more care in selecting your words.

I have not read through all 41 pages as I find this subject very distressing. I don't know you Jane, but I've seen from your picture that you're a very beautiful woman and I am very sorry that this has happened to you. There is no excuse to put anyone through this terrible act and I hope whoever did this to you gets the justice they deserve and no other girl suffers in the way you have suffered. I may be in Scotland, but this is happening far too often and I want to do my part in putting an end to it. I wish I could do more. I shall sign your petition.

My name's Shellby. <3 Jane Doe is the name they're using in my case because I don't want people involved to know my real name.
But besides that. Thank you so much. That's such a nice thing to say. Just your condolences mean the world to me, as well as everyone else's.

:palm: :palm: :palm: What. The. Hell?! Dude, that's the most disrespectful thing you could ever say. How a girl acts, dresses, talks, etc are NOT excuses, or invitations to rape her.

:palm: :palm: :palm: You get a total of 6 palms. 3 are for your first comment. The other 3 are for the comment above. I've already said that how women dress, act, talk, etc are not excuses or invitations to rape her. That's like saying people who don't wear bullet proof vests are inviting someone to shoot them.

As for your comment about 'porn leading to rape' ... I'm interested to know where you got that statistic. If watching porn makes us rapists, what the hell does that mean for the people who make and star in the films? As Shellby pointed out to you, millions of people all over the world watch porn and most of them don't turn out to be rapists. You're just an idiot. Stop posting on the forums. Get THAT through YOUR thick skull.

:palm: Oh, the irony. That just puts your lack of common sense out there for everyone to see. Attractiveness and clothing are not a factor in rape cases. That's common sense, not your hogwash. And it has evidence to back it up. 73% of sexual assaults are by someone the victim knows, so what the victim wears or what she looks like does not matter at all, she'll be raped anyway.

EDIT: Grammar.

I guess you haven't gotten, from 40+ pages of posts, that this is a SUPPORT THREAD for Shellby. Whatever she did or did not do before the rape is irrelevant to the fact that she was a victim. Yes, technically what you said may be true, but is it really right for people to live in fear of criminals? Does it give people an excuse to rape? I bet you could protect yourself better right now- go live in a fortress with armed guards 24/7 and never go out. And even then some accident could happen, or one of the guards turn on you...my point is, you shouldn't live your life in fear of harm.

Shellby: I signed your petition and I wish you the best of luck.
