I have to agree with that statement to some degree, to me what I think is necessary and should be provided by the government is, Housing, Food, Water, Electricity, and Healthcare. Other than that, you want it, you need to work for it. I call those the 5 necessities.

I have been there, thank you very much. A terrible, terrible place, showing just how absolutely barbaric fascism (capitalism in decay) can be. It actually was a partial epiphany moment, in the face of such unabated evil, that I realized this horrid imperialist system, in all its manifestations, must be opposed at any costs. I actually broke down and cried there, wished I could travel back in time, and slaughter each and ever member of the SS, SA, Nazi Party, everyone. I was an atheist, but I wished in that moment that Christianity was true, just so Hitler could be suffering forever for the great evil he caused. It was only there, facing it, that I realized on more than a mere intellectual level, how evil and detestable the capitalist system is. Even writing now, I'm furious, depressed. So many emotions at once. I've tried to channel them for good.

And, particularly as someone with a number of close Jewish relatives, who'd probably be considered a "Mischling" under that detestable regime, I find it extremely offensive that you'd even for a second think to compare this monstrosity, absolute barbarity to a nation fighting AGAINST the capitalist imperialist system that caused it. It's highly offensive to each and every one of the innocent men and women killed in that terrible place, and everyone today in the DPRK and abroad who draws breath to fight against that same, evil system today.

If you suggest such an offensive thing again, I'm afraid I'll have to contact the moderators. I'm not normally one to call them in over minor matters of disagreement, but the connotations of this are extremely offensive, particularly to one of my family background. The average North Korean survives on 700 calories a day. The normal consumption recommended for proper health is three times that.

Nice thought on paper. But here's the flaw: How do you guarantee that the government doesn't give people who vote against it shitty houses? Or cut off their water and electricity, and neglect to give them their ration cards? Essentially, with all that stuff in the hands of the government, how do you prevent them from abusing their power?
