yes, even though it has been speculated that several spies who beat the lie detector, were able to evade being detected because the CIA FBI and SS over use the lie detector.

As far as I can tell they've been improving it over the years.

30 years ago the computers used were, how can I put it, a bit pants compared to the ones we use now.

Just curious as Due to need of money I find myself steered to law enforcement, and I may need to gloss over a few things in my past.

enough that it is not considered solid evidence in court, so far as I remember and/or am told by TV shows

But still hard enough that my pot-smoking cousin failed it the first time he tried to join the CHP.

Unless, as mentioned before, you're my loser (but rich) cousin, who managed to get a second test after failing the first... and instructions on how to "fool" it from a senior member of the CHP.

Ahhh, nepotism. What, bitter? No, not at all, why would you ask?

Seriously should reasonable pot smoking prevent anyone from being an officer?

If this is your attitude towards Law Enforcement, then please consider a different career... Law Enforcement requires dedication and passion as mentioned here already. There are plenty of other things you can do instead.

Forgive me if i don't play the super motivated type. Time in the army has made me weary of motivated.

Then forgive me if I say you're not going to go very far in LE - motivation is usually one of the things they look for.
Either get a serious additude adjustment or pick another career because I don't want someone like you responding as my backup.

Don't worry I can wear the motivation face as needed.

A job that a history degree can help me get, and will help me get into law school ?
There are not many.
I prefer the answer the chief of Bryan police department at the career fair gave me the other day.
You want to go to law school? , that means you will likely a letter of recommendation. Yeah Id rather have some more of you then the career types at the moment.

There are two types of jobs, once that are stepping stones, and others that are careers.
Just because person A sees it as a career, doesn't mean I can't see it as a stepping stone.

Just prey they don't look at NSG :D

I mask my IP.

So you're looking at the FBI and Secret Service (only one of which is law enforcement, by the way), and think they can't figure out your IP if they want to?

Actually, both are law enforcement.

I would guess that getting yourself over-excited about something beforehand could skew the results of a polygraph. So could altering you body chemistry through diet. I could be wrong though.

Heh, "you will likely a letter of recommendation" reminds me of "I accidentally the whole coca cola bottle."
