Nationstates and International Incidents are the Roleplay forums. There you can pretend to go to war or to open diplomatic relations with other nations.

The WA is a place where laws and resolutions can be hammered out and voted on.

The moderation forum is where to make any complaints or ask about mod actions/ other players' behavior.

Nope...we don't do polite well here, although some people try to be nice when people are new. In NSG (General) you really should come prepared to back up what you say. If something goes beyond mere impoliteness, then take it to moderation so the mods can discuss the issue and see if it warrants some...attention. The best place to start really is the one stop rules. Also each thread tends to have it's own specific rules and customs, so you might look around a bit to see what is acceptable.

edit* Just as a warning, don't spam in moderation (that means no unnecessary quotes about what you feel. the purpose is generally to bring problems to their attention. No me too stuff there, and no using mods as weapons, they don't like that.

Honestly it depends and/or varies. For the most part you get what you put into it. Nice people aren't immune from dicks but there aren't really that many that go out of their way to be jerks and when they do they're jerks to everyone and usually flame out. If you 'get into it' you'll find people who will get down and dirty with you, and there might be people who are doing that, generally not personal. I don't roleplay, but as far as I can tell they're for the most part a pretty congenial group who like to foster new comers as long as they're not all "I nuke joos all!" They seem a little fixated on war, but I think you can find those who don't think that's the end all be all of nation management.

I was going to be all cynical and "abandon hope all ye who enter here" but compared to the comments section on YouTube or IMDb this place is practically the Oxford Union.
