Saying he's banned from using illegal drugs seems redundant.

Not really.

Merely having them in your system generally isn't illegal (unless you're driving). This way, they don't have to prove possession (which is what the laws generally forbid), only consumption--which can be detected for some time after the fact via tests.

If this case were the reverse, with a black man shooting a 6'4" white kid in a black neighborhood, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be screaming their heads off about the 'Racist Justice System' and how "They only arrested him because he is black! It was clearly self-defence!"

Racism and sensationalism sells...If only it wasn't the same for the justice system...

The Trevor Dooley case says otherwise.

EDIT: For those who have asked me by TG and otherwise, the decision on the latest motion to dismiss has been put off until mid-May. 20 months after David James' death, the case still hasn't gone to trial.

On that basis, I wouldn't expect that we'll see Zimmerman face trial until sometime next year.
