Was there something in particular? I'm just being curious, cause Slovakia's a great place, and Slovaks are wonderful people. Except for when they beat us at hockey :P

The language is beautiful. I can only speak a smattering but it's wonderful. The food's great (sour cream) as I mentioned, the countryside looks fantastic. The history's also really intriguing. The people seem really lovely too.

Whoah. I can read that! "Dear Guests from something capital, please remember to was your hands - Krakow congratulates Warsaw!"

And the cultural meaning: people from the capital are dirty, cause of politics and all, so they should come clean in Krakow :P

Hopefully I wasn't too far off.

It says "Dear guests from the current capital, we remind you of the possibility of washing hands". It has nothing to do with politics, and much to do with Cracovians' feeling of cultural superiority :p

Yep, Dr. Zhivago counts, it's by Pasternak :D

Buranovskiye Babushki - "party for everybody, come on and dance, come on dance!" That's so awesome :D

I've been to Scotchland, the Edinburgh Festival's pretty awesome! I stayed at a hotel a mile from the Royal Mile - great place, great people, kind of like the St. Petersburg White Nights Festival! And it's awesome, we pan-movement people should stick together, and see what we can accomplish, so welcome to thread!

Interesting how you listed Lube as your first, that's also Putin's favorite band :P

I love Lube because of their incredible ability to mix various genres and get it right, which is really hard to do. All of their songs are a mixture of at least two genres. Like this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4MbzbrR ... re=related

The lyrics compare a military mission to a song, and how it relates to the everyday person, it's amazing :D

I remember the first major Gazmanov hit in 1991, I danced to it like crazy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc52UB0dr04

And then there's the more serious song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkZzKlbf ... re=related

I also like DDT, just not as much as the other too - and I think you have very good taste in Slavic music :P

Thanks! I love Russian Shanson in general, just discovered a Slavic supermarket nearby.

Bought some cooky like ''bricks'' made from sunflower, would like to know how it is called, tastes damn good.

Also, kvas is delicious, not for the first time, but it will get eventually.

Try their Rogaliki. My Cocia Danka makes great Rogaliki.

I always wondered if there is still a tie between the Slavic (particuraly Russian) people and the Mongols.

Not geneticly, but by friendship.
