Also read as " I beheld Satan as lightning fall from the heights of heaven"
Additionally in Isaiah and elsewhere when referring to the Devil or Lucifer they note him falling from "the heights" or high place.
Of course Jesus being a Jew, spoke Hebrew.
Now the Hebrew word for Lightening? (In Strong's Dictionary it's listed as word 1300)
baraq
And the Hebrew word for heights or high place (In Strong's Dictionary it's listed as word 1116)
bamah or Bam-Maw'
Now in Hebrew poetry, the word 'Waw' is used as a conjunction to join concept together, which most scholars would use a "U" or "O"
So when translating as such, the phase "lightning fall from heaven"
Heavens being a high place, you get;
Baraq "O" Bam-Maw
Baraq "U" Bam-Maw
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as Baraq "O" Bam-Maw
Just a little creepy right?
