I'm Christian alright, but not OFFICIALLY part of any sub-form of the religion. I guess you could say I fit in best with Lutheranism, but I don't know. Whatever christian church that believes in equality and respect for all is a church for me. All that "follow our beliefs or go to hell" garbage gives theists a bad rep.

Sounds like WBC to me. Believe me, if you know who they are, I don't need to explain how bad they are. I agree with your statement honorably.

Indeed. So what does everyone think of the Bible? I think it is an ok book, has a bit of less than savory stuff in it though.

I know. It's hard to understand, with all of it's proper grammar usage, isn't it?

Shitty and boring mythology.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

This is a common saying made by Christians. In reality, not really.

I wouldn't say the Tanakh (The complete "Jewish Bible") is shitty or boring mythology.

The Book of Ecclesiastes is very philosophical, not referring much to any religious matters really.
The Book of Psalms, while religious, is a book of songs from a young boy. Aside from the religious matters, the psalms can be taken in a cultural and social sense, somewhat philosophical as well.

I've read better.

Not if you have a general hatred for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam

Also Mavorpen, correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you Buddhist?

Interesting to read, and if you read the Bible its fun to point out easter eggs and grammer/spelling mistakes.

At the very least, if it turns out to be false, how people could believe that it doesn't conflict and other "wild" claims.
