Certainly in the Torah and Koran it makes clear that homosexuality needs to be punished physically, but the Bible itself argues that all Sins are equal, and that you should forgive others when they sin. This would include homosexuality.
That said I would again credit it more to human ignorance than the religion itself.(BTW I am not a professional on either the Torah or Koran)
No... because other cultures have throughout history have tolerated and even accepted homosexuals. It's not even all religion persay as it is religion of the Abrahamic persuasion.

I was talking hatred in general, which my bad I had begun to deviate a bit off towards a more general subject.![]()
I would say you're thinking more of the culture and not the religious views which do have an impact on the culture(or the culture on the religious views either way). I'll give an example from personal experience. I live in an area with little religious fervor, but massive homophobia, in justification of this I usually got responses of:
"Its unnatural and illogical for two men to have sex"
"they're just so freaking weird man"
and the few religious people around here
"Because the Bible says its wrong clearly!"
Obviously my own personal experiences is not really evidence to prove the entire idea, but it is just an example. Also: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline ... rview.html

Any ideas?
Not much of a drinker myself... but I recommend spiced rum and eggnog. I'm still working on the proportions, so I'll get back to you when I've figured that out.
Otherwise, I don't really know anything festive.

That sounds good...but I got something you can try or not
Add a shot of Jagermeister and then take two half cups of Hpnotiq and Cognac.
You get what I call "The Angry Santa"

Well, I am an Anthropology major (damn I say that way too much on here)... so culture tends to be of slight interest to me (Anthropology is literally the study of human culture.)
My largest issue is that the religion tends to provide fuel to those cultural views, rather than allieviating them. If it is not advocating for tolerance and acceptance, it is leaving room for the valid interpretation of intolerance and hatred.

I can agree with that. It certainly seems true when one looks at Christianity where Christ spent his life sacrificing for people, yet the interpretation most people have made is that he would want them to kill everybody.(obviously hyperbole lol)
