Or just interested in different things, perhaps. I'm an MA student in German History and might well be getting an AHRC-funded scholarship to do a PhD (find out in May, slightly shitting bricks about it). But I don't really think I'm smarter than many people. Just interested in different things.

Can't argue that they know more about sex, and how to roll a joint, but things that will get you an honest job?

You'd think so, and then you'll graduate with your History degree and be all "ah... ah I fucked up here".

I think people are failing to realize that everyone on Twitter is stupid. Hence, stupid remarks. Nothing new to see here.
“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. Picture all experts as if they were mammals. Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. I've applied for quite a few jobs in my time and "what can you tell me about the Titanic" doesn't come up very often in applications or interviews.

When there was a discussion on Yahoo! about 'Titanic' being re-released in 3D, some of the comments were painful.

'OMG this was a pointless movie. When it first came out, they already spoiled the ending in the trailer! Yeah, we wanted to know the ship sank before we went and saw it!'

'I wonder were Jack is buried, if at all...'

I mean, it's so painful, I can't continue, for a budding historian like moi.

Name a time, and the cinema ;)

but seriously, that movie was dick. DiCaprio and Winslet are alright, but that movie just ruined a lot of family names and the number of documentaries they had to make after its original release to clear names was unneeded, really.

So does anyone care that on 9/11 some 4,000 people were killed? That was 100 years ago I doubt any survivors are still alive so why should I care?
