So does that mean you'll vote for that other liar, Romney?

If your vote is based upon who lies, you cannot vote for anyone, ever.

EDIT: Sorry I think I misread what you wrote...my point is, they all lie, so, ya. lol

Ah! But Romney lies about the stupid stuff.

Speaker John A. Boehner on Tuesday set the stage for a bruising election-year showdown on fiscal policy, vowing to hold up another increase in the federal debt ceiling unless it was offset by larger spending cuts.

Yes. Because they would rather ruin their country than compromise - I have never seen such a bunch of belligerent, whiny children as the Republicans in Congress.

Can't wait to vote for the first time in my life come November, and I'm voting for Mitt Romney (most likely.)

I cannot vote for a president who:
-Supports same-sex marriage
-Says Trayvon Martin is his son (your son would get kicked out of school for marijuana possession?)
-Would rather focus on gay marriage and healthcare than what matters most, the economy.
-Has yet to affect me in a positive way as a white, middle-class, college student. (I don't have student loans thanks to getting a full scholarship. I also have not focused on getting a full-time job because I'm in college)

among other reasons...(*puts on shield for incoming rebuttals*)

Really? What has he done to be despised?

Trillions of dollars in debt, proposing Catholics having contraception mandates, flip flopping on gay marriage, the stimulus failed, and he seems to be bringing America to socialism, which in some respectable opinions may be a good thing, just not in mine, Etc. I wouldn't say I despise him, because I respect Barack Obama the man. Despise= hate. And I don't hate people.

Repubs are the ones not wanting to do anything. As they have basically said their mission is to deny anything this President attempts.

I've always found it odd that that would be a defining point for someone when it doesn't effect them. But, okay.
Thatius wrote:-Says Trayvon Martin is his son (your son would get kicked out of school for marijuana possession?)

Look like. Not is. And, given that Obama has been pretty open about his own dalliances with marijuana, I don't know that it would be a deal breaker for him.
Thatius wrote:-Would rather focus on gay marriage and healthcare than what matters most, the economy.

I don't know that answering a question on a talk show is 'focusing', I mean, what has he done that's 'focused' on gay marriage other than answer that question?
Thatius wrote:-Has yet to affect me in a positive way as a white, middle-class, college student. (I don't have student loans thanks to getting a full scholarship. I also have not focused on getting a full-time job because I'm in college)

Well, off the top of my head, you're still eligible to be on your parents health insurance because of him until you're 26.

You seriously think that was all him?

proposing Catholics having contraception mandates,

You realize contraception is used for more then just sex? right? Nothing wrong with having the option. The old bastards(ie the bishiops) don't have a clue as to how the female body works so they really shouldn't be deciding what they need.

flip flopping on gay marriage,

It's a good flip-flop. Shows the man can learn and actually take a stand on something many people (ie religious zelots) are not going to like.

the stimulus failed,

Really? My wife is back to work after not being able to find a serious job for three years.

and he seems to be bringing America to socialism,

The US has practiced forms of socialism for a long time.

You might want to study it more then listening to the morons in office or worst TV.

which in some respectable opinions may be a good thing, just not in mine, Etc. I wouldn't say I despise him, because I respect Barack Obama the man. Despise= hate. And I don't hate people.

Well don't get caught up with trying to sound nice. For example, denying equality(ie gay marriage) and then saying "not hating gays" is a cop out.

Obama made is statement so it's no longer a separate topic.

I take it you are religious?

-His murder is not justified, but Obama's comment was not. If he had a son, it would be a kid who skips school, does marijuana, and gets in trouble? Really? I hate how the media portrays Trayvon as well..showing his picture as some innocent teenager..

You do realize you are suggesting he got what he deserved right?

I am sure you have lived a pristine life right?

-I'd rather see him do more things on the economy than talk about same-sex marriage or healthcare. No offense to the gays, but uhh...the economy more important. Is the unemployment rate really dropping or are less people looking for jobs? Just last week people requesting unemployment benefits rose..

Considering how the unemployment numbers are generated, they are not something to absolutely measure. Also, regions will have better times then others.

In my area; I am seeing vacant store fronts getting leased. I am seeing homes so serious repairs. I am seeing people waste money on things like coffee again. People I know who have been out of work for a long time are finding jobs again.

it's not all great but there are signs the ship is not sinking as it was.

That of course would change if Romney and the repubs take control.

-Positive way: meaning he has done something that I approve and has positively affected me. Thanks to a horrible economy, my parents have lost money and now we have high gas prices among other things.

Gas is not his doing. Blame the speculators for it. The economy is not only his doing.

Side question: Do you think drilling would solve our gas prices?
