When it comes down to it, Romney's team for "long-term planning" as regards foreign policy have their heads stuffed up their asses even farther than the Pentagon's chiefs of staff. That's quite the accomplishment, but it's not something we need. Honestly, Obama needs to be tougher with the Pentagon than he has been, and the same ought to be said for Clinton.

Letting them run amok is what brought us to 9/11 in a very real sense, and not reigning them in and dictating policy to them as the real civilian owners of their department has been devastating for our budget and for the world.

Oh look, a claim that has no evidence. This is your specialty isn't it?
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Also, since more and more people qualify for federal programs (that were put in place by congress) due in part of the poor economy, of course spending is going to go up. The baby boomers are JUST starting to retire and get medicare benefits so it won't be a surprise if spending goes up.

I hope Obama spends all the money and decides to turn us into a social democracy, because a president totally has that much power.

I also hope he rewrites the constitution and travels back in time to punch Kim Jong Il in the liver.

the idiot tea partiers threatened to primary him over that kind of talk .

The Tea Party is just a bunch of racists, homophobic, leeches. All they do is take money from the government through their tax credits, Social Security, subsidies, etc. then they lie and say they never took a dime. All of them are lying filth.

They're also irrelevant.

today is the utah convention where the tea party is trying to do to orin hatch what they did to bob bennett in '10--replace a powerful, extremely conservative senator with a tea party idiot like mike lee.

when it fails can we admit that the tea party is OVER?

They have a thing for stupid people who say stupid things over and over and over. Hence their support of Marco Rubio and (especially) Allen West.
