Well, he may be talking about the Romney's possible renewal of the cold war should he become president.

When it comes down to it, Romney's team for "long-term planning" as regards foreign policy have their heads stuffed up their asses even farther than the Pentagon's chiefs of staff. That's quite the accomplishment, but it's not something we need. Honestly, Obama needs to be tougher with the Pentagon than he has been, and the same ought to be said for Clinton.

Letting them run amok is what brought us to 9/11 in a very real sense, and not reigning them in and dictating policy to them as the real civilian owners of their department has been devastating for our budget and for the world.

Also, since more and more people qualify for federal programs (that were put in place by congress) due in part of the poor economy, of course spending is going to go up. The baby boomers are JUST starting to retire and get medicare benefits so it won't be a surprise if spending goes up.
