Exactly. Fr33domland's linking of Atheism to Socialism shows he doesnt understand what they really are. Americans have just decided to use Socialism as a catchall word for something that seems bad or complex or academic.

That's liberalism. Socialism is a catch all for anything perceived as class warfare or any social program the constituencies are angry about having to pay for.

Acording to most "ignorant Americans": Liberalism = Socialism

You deny there is a correlation between atheism and socialism?Ceannairceach wrote:Fr33domland wrote::rofl:

Do tell us what you meant by the underlined, then, if not that most atheists are totalitarians.

I made a casual remark. This does not imply causation. I was never making blanket statements.
You are going to play your little politically correct bullshit games, obviously. So I won't waste my time.

As far as I can tell, this is an urban legend promoted on some Islamic web sites - I can't find any Christian or Jewish references, and you'd think there would be some keen interest there.
This video seems to be typical of those used by Islamic sites making the claim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBjvpAbtHs8, as linked to here. There are several similar videos, also linked to by a variety of Islamic discussion forums.
However, it seems to be a bizarre misunderstanding arising from this Predynastic mummified body: http://www.egyptorigins.org/ginger.htm

Well, see, I suppose I could have googled some of that myself. Thank you, Arch.
