I hold this belief because it is my choice to believe in what seems logical to me. I do not see how the Universe could expand from nothingness into everything we see here. Something had to have set off the Big Bang, something had to of created that ball of mass. For you, that something may just be an eventuality of science and nature. For me, that something is God. I truly Believe my God saved my mother from cancer. I truly believe that God speaks to me through my subconscious thought. Like I have said, it is your choice and your choice alone to be an atheist, just as it is my choice and my choice alone to believe in God. EVeryone is different, we all think differently. Unless you're a clone of course. Then you're exactly the same, but that's beside the point

1: Luckily, what seems logical to do is not necessarily what is logical.
2: Simply a failure of imagination on your part. It's had about 700000000 times as long to do things than you've had.
3: To apply your logic more fully, something must have created god. You're just denying science to feel better.
4: God saved your mother from cancer. Too bad he wasn't there for the other 20000 people who died of cancer that day. Or the other 250000 people who died that day. Many of things unimaginably more painful than cancer. But hey, he saved one woman, and that's what matters, right?
5: If you're hearing voices in your head, visit a doctor.
6: A clone is not completely identical to the original, unless you also think that identical twins think the exact same thoughts every second of every day.

The entire argument is "I can't think of a way so therefor no one could possibly have thought of a way."

if you want to believe that nonphysical things which are not imaginary cannot exist, i cannot stop anyone from doing so. but even the existence of physical things is not dependent on anyone knowing about it.

at any rate, my sympathies remain with everyone who has ever felt compelled to try to find some what to get people to not screw everything up for each other.
while at the same time, acknowledging, that what people pretend to know about what is not known, is people pretending. even if they carved it on bamboo and did so thousands of years in the past.
