That is why people belive in God there no prove but people have faith that god realy does exist. I am not saying it does exist, i am not God exist i am just saying that people belive in god because they hope their is one.

Well, it doesn't say "if". It just states that G therefore G. It's meaningless.

To expand, the argument basically says:
If god is real, then he is the greatest being imaginable. <- An expansion of "god is the greatest being imaginable" - if he is not real, then he is not the greatest being imaginable, as stated within the argument itself, thus being the greatest being necessitates his reality.

God is the greatest being imaginable therefore he is real.

An argument phrased similarly:
If all labradors are birds, then all labradors are animals

All labradors are animals, therefore all labradors are birds.

When I'm far down the road of modern understanding and I come upon a bewildering occurrence I usually say, "Whoa, okay, that's weird, we should look into that." I do not say, "Wow, must be Go ... I mean, must be the Mystery of the Universe."

I think the poster is just explaining the origin of gods. And really, the problem here is that not a lot of people can be arsed to learn more about science or how the world works.

Maybe, but phrases like "down the road of modern understanding" make me think he's talking about the present day.

And why does there have to be a God, then? What if the universe itself has no cause? Eliminating the middle being saves you time and resources.

None that we presently know of at least. For some that is, because we can be certain that a few others definitely aren't.
