Funny you should mention this.

I recall a certain other Middle-Eastern nation rich in oil reserves and ruled by an insane dictator who was demonised by the West and accused of possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction with the intention of using them against its enemies.

Anyone remember how that one turned out?

Very well, for the Kurds. Finally free of the tyranny of Saddam.

If the purpose of this thread was to get a quick snapshot of just how shallow, uniformed, unrealistic and juvenile much of the debate about international policy really is, I think it did its job. At least Tony Blair does not need to feel lonely. :palm:

There was a debate about international policy? Only Tony Blair has very little, if any, influence on international policy..

I thought this thread was a competition to see whose knee jerks hardest..

Speaking of eating kittens, I have just opened up my first Kentucky-Fried-Citten(kitten). It is located at 845662 West Chi st, Beijing.

On a more serious note, I think Iran has been showing off for awhile, as has Isreal. But has everyone forgot about N. Korea?

America's Priority List:

1- Get the F out of Iraq.
2- Launch into another poorly planned meaningless war with some middle-eastern country under the hood of 'Democracy'.
3- After destabilizing it and implementing a system that the US agrees with, get the F out again.
4- Repeat continually without worrying about our own nearly-failing country.

when we should look like this...

America's Priority List (Revised):

1- Get the F out of Iraq
2- Recover and focus on our own internal problems.
3- After recovery, negotiate with Eastern Eurasian countries of terror, firmly commanding them to stop all nuclear weapons pursuits.
4- Upon inevitable failure of such diplomacy, confer with other UN members with similar mindsets.
5- Develop well-planned war procedures and launch joint attacks on Isreal, Iran, N. Korea, and other extremist terror-breeding hell-holes.
6- Thanks to the well-planned part, we actually are able to get these countries REAL governments and get them on the correct world path once more.

Right?

Catholic icons are used as respectful veneration, not idol-worship.

Now I'm no international expert, but why can't Iran, Israel, India et al have nuclear weapons if they want to? It's one rule for the UNSC and one rule for everyone else, it seems. Also, good luck launching an attack on Israel and India! India's too big and Israel are too good because they're used to everyone around them declaring war on them.

if you are indicating we went to iraq for oil you are wrong, if you didn't notice oil prices have went up alot. we were going to use oil revenue to fund war but demacrats went nuts so we agreed with them, then other little things but i don't have 100% proof of it since its on VHS not on interwebs

and i was implying WWII and the invasion of poland and other such invasions that the rest of europe shook their fingers at and did nothing untill hitler pushed his luck to far. isolationism almost destroyed all of europe (almost). but this time there is a little thing called nuclear weapons and this makes things more interesting (lol@ironicmissiledeffencesystemdissebled)

Funny you should say that, seeing as how a similar method was used in the 60s and ended up putting the Ayatollahs in power.

(Yes, I know that Mossadegh wasn't shot, but he was still removed from office and replaced by a puppet.)
