But much more interesting

True I was kinda hoping they did tie the crew up. It would make a much more interesting story. lol :)

Indeed it would've been :p

Well if you want to you could always create your own radical offshoot of Greenpeace. Call it greenwar or something and go boarding the ships of polluters and tie them up.

I'll write you nice letters to you while you are in jail and we can have a big party for you when you come out :)

Please no one do this. There are better ways of accomplishing change.

Actually I already don't. I have no real need to use it and I don't have a way to know if the palm oil I would normally buy grown by clear cutting or otherwise damaging rainforests or not.

Im over Greenpeace

No matter how dangerous, stupid or however many people are affected by these mongrels, their actions are always portrayed as 'heroic.' Yes, even commiting acts of piracy and ramming other ships, their actions are heroic.

This is why we need to suspend naval gun control laws. If I were on an ocean going vessel and someone tried to board I'd shoot first, forget about the shovel, and skip right to the shut up. Fucking pirates.

Call the French. They, apparently, have lots of experience in dealing with Greenpeace.
The kind of middle-class mentality which actuates both those responsible for strategy and government has little knowledge of the new psychology and organizing ability of the totalitarian States. The forces we are fighting are governed neither by the old strategy nor follow the old tactics.

Can you show me a time within the last 15 years where Greenpeace has "ramed" a ship or committed "piracy?"

I don't actually like greenpeace as an organization all that much for various reasons but I've never seen documentation where they have done that.

As usual an opportunity for something fun has been messed up.

They should have waited until the ship reached port. Then tie everyone including themselves to be video taped indulging in beastiality with the hungry animals.

Since everyone knows the quote already I won't quote it but...

If you make non violence methods of protest/causing change illegal or respond violently against non violent protesters/activists then all you do is greatly increase the numbers of people who are willing to fight your violence with violence of their own.

It is much more easy to plan and execute a mass peaceful operation such as what Greenpeace did then it would be for a single person to (for example) put a time delayed explosive on the underside of the ships hull resulting in the potential death of the crew and destruction of the boat.

It is GOOD that we allow non violent expression without trying to punish it to much because that keeps people from using violent means.

If a protester is likely to get shot then they won't give up... They will just fight "fire with fire" so to speak. Basically by making it impossible to peacefully descent you make violent terrorism justifiable in the minds of some people.

That is talking about sea shepherd. Sea Shepard was founded by Paul Watson who was voted off the Greenpeace board about 30 years ago. Sea Shepard often publicly denounces Greenpeace and Greenpeace likewise always refuses to work with sea Shepard.

They are not related just because they share some of the same goals.

There is a difference between protesting and
a) recklessly endangering other people
b) committing obvious crimes
c) disrupting innocent peoples day to day life

Greenpeace and co just don't get it. A lot of protesters dont get it. Instead of people understanding their cause, people vent their anger by blaming those who cause it.

Entire military? Try about 20 commandos and a bit of C4

I don't know. Sea shepherd seems pretty effective to me. They get their cause allot of attention and they manage to stop the whale hunt (which by the way takes place in an international whale sanctuary in violation of multiple treaties) for long durations of time.
