Greenpeace is at it again. This time they stormed a ship and tied up people (don't think it's in that report, but it was on the national news.) so they could protest against Fonterra corporation's palm oil.

While there is nothing wrong with Greenpeace protesting about these actions, as they are entitled to, they always seem to step over the bounds and do things a little extreme, such as tying people up. It even made France bomb the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland harbor in 1985

Did they tie themselves up or did they tie the workers on the boat up? Also as you mentioned your source does not include this tying up action.

I'm kinda thinking that they tied themselves up, as is a common tactic. Really, I doubt that they'd go that far, they're not ELF for god's sake!

Just FYI it would be against the ELF guidelines to tie other people up also. ELF guidelines would not, however, prohibit sinking or otherwise destroying the boat as long as no one was hurt in the process.

In this case I don't see the major problem with it. They did a standard civil disobedience act.

Greenpeace: Not as bizarre as PETA.
The Empire of Pretantia wrote:[...] TLDR; welcome to the internet. Bicker or GTFO.
"Why is self-control, autonomy, such a threat to authority? Because the person who controls himself, who is his own master, has no need for an authority to be his master. This, then, renders authority unemployed. What is he to do if he cannot control others? To be sure, he could mind his own business. But that is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own business do not aspire to become authorities." ~ Thomas Szasz

I don't believe you.

In total, 14 protesters were arrested from the ship. These protesters have been charged with unlawfully boarding the ship, and will be bailed to appear in the Tauranga District Court within the next seven days

Greenpeace activists have chained themselves to a ship moored off Tauranga, protesting against a shipment of palm kernel animal feed.

The national TV news the day the story broke. Obviously they got it wrong that day and I never checked newer sources before I posted it. Wrongdoing on my part, but I'm not lying.

The protesters were charged with illegally boarding a vessel, Tauranga police area commander Inspector Mike Clement said.

I know, I was being a bit... "snarky". ;)
I really have more respect for an organization that will actually go out and do something meaningful even if I disagree with their action or cause, rather than hire naked models to convince me meat is bad *coughPETAcough*

OP why do you value an unsourcable "TV" report over the reports of actual newspapers? TV is infamous for getting things wrong.
