You can't change the mentality of young boys. They love to pick on people who aren't like them to make themselves feel good and to show off to other people. You can say, everyone is equal till your blue in the face, the reality is, everyone is different and some people love to exploit that.

Right...
The good old "they bring it on themselves" clause. Why don't we teach all students who are different in some way to be ashamed of themselves, that should solve the problem.

Did you not read the second part of my post? You can't change this mentality. Just like there will never be world peace and the world will never be free of poverty. Instead of trying to stop it, try to deal with it.

Theyo nly get their mentality forom similar minded parents, so if you teach the next generation to be more thoughtful, it should carry on to their kids.

You can't eliminate beliefs. Duh. Thats why we have a never ending stream of extremists who wish to harm the west. Thats why white supremacism is still living today. Thats why homosexuals are being bullied at school. People are always afraid of whats different. Teaching people these days to be tolerant is having no effect. At all. Period.

40 years ago those white supremacists were hanging black men from trees. Now they're spouting ideological bull on the radio about the President of the United States. That's a pretty big effect in my books.

I read the second part. That mentality comes from somewhere, it doesn't just randomly congeal in boys' minds. What about me? When I was a young boy, I never had this mentality.
You reap what you sow. Ignorance breeds ignorance. We shouldn't be protecting the ignorant and punishing those who are different.

That mentality is generational, its passed down through the ages. Then you have the 'cycle,' many victimsor bullying or abuse vent their rage on other people. You are right, we shouldn't be punishing those who a different, but at the end of the day, people will believe what they want to, regardless of how much sense it makes.

You don't believe that factual, unbiased knowledge of a certain group can combat ignorance? If all people have to go on is stereotypes and subjective opinions, how will the cycle of ignorance ever be broken?

It won't be! Duh! Why is the world still at war? Why do people get bullied at school? Not just the homosexuals, but people in general! This ignorance is a part of life. There is no cure. Face the facts.

We certainly have progressed socially as a society though, what do you attribute to that? 100 years ago, people with the belief in equal rights for minorities were in the minority. Now the bigots are in the minority. You have to admit, something caused this shift. What caused it?

So complaining has changed our society so drastically? It hasn't been the elimination of junk sciences that supposedly proved that black people's skulls were smaller than white people's so therefore they are inferior? And even if complaining is the only cause of all our cultural shifts, is complaining against an injustice a bad thing? I'm not assuming you think so, but your curt one liner seems a little contemptible of this method.

I didn't mean complaining I meant persuasion. There are a lot of people out there who are easily influenced. The Civil Rights bandwagon is always rolling, ready for people of all walks of life to jump on. But the problem never gets solved. Never has never will be. Racism is not dead, People are still judged by religion. So called 'nerds' at school are picked on because they apparently lack the strength to fight back. You can go on all you like about progress, but the reality is, nothing has changed. And it won't be. Its not fair, but nothing is.

Wow, what a really immature teacher. He should apologize and spend some time in the gay/lesbian community.

Engaging in personal attacks, for any reason, should be a no-no for teachers.

Now let's see what happens the next time a leftie teacher engages in personal attacks against a conservative student. I'm sure the land of Stuart Smalley will be all over that.

But education has greatly reduced persecution of black students and is slowly doing the same thing for gay students.

Shut up you sadist cup of shit.

Because of your type, children, based on their sexuality, are victimised daily, they are beaten literally bloody by their parents, beaten up and outcast at school all based on what they are born to like and dislike!

I personaly was abused physically at a catholic school, and held at knife point by one of the students, I was stabbed in the shoulder, abdomen and my shin and left without medical aid for 2 hours!

Don't you dare say what is and is not worthy of attention!

While I sympathize with your plight, I do find a portion of your post to be unnecessary inflammatory. Warned for flaming.
