Knew I was bisexual from a very early age.

I did too. When I was way younger I was almost positive I was going to be a lesbian someday.

I didn't know I was bi until I the end of my freshman year of HS (about 2 years ago this month, actually).

But looking back, I realize there have always been hints...I'd mention them, but I don't want to go past PG-13.

To me gay prides are not helping other then giving our opponents a reason to state even more that we are nothing but a bunch of deviant, abnormal, promiscuous fags and bastions of lust and lechery.

Most of the gay and bisexual people I know are very respectable, refined and decent types.

Don't get me wrong, just because you participate in Gay pride events does not make you deviant, but to our foaming-at-the-mouth opponents it only further serves as a confirmation for their bigotry.

Gay prides appear somewhat like freak shows to me, instead of showing that we are normal and decent human beings just like straight people it is like it states "Look how extravagant and deviant we are!".

I speak from personal experience when I state some people have used Gay pride/parades as a justification for their hatred and their bigotry towards people like me.

I think you are forgetting that it is quite disturbing when you are just trying to be friends and someone is trying to use you for sex.

I always look at it this way, pride parades are a great way to show off the flaming lunatics. If the straights can get desensitized to that they won't care about "normal" gay people. Aside from the annoying "You don't act gay!".

You know you are right, its just life is difficult for me because everyone always when i tell them what i am they say "ohh you are just broken when you get older you will get fixed." its just well my social skills are not particularly good don't really care to fix them but still. I'm a loner and have difficult time around people. people always are messing with me about my looks and habits, i prefer not going outside. life sucks really bad.sorry for being rude.

I hate it how these days you have to prove you are a true bisexual. And even then it isn't uncommon to be called deviant.

There was a "coming out" boom at my school of "bisexuals" who wouldn't ever touch the opposite sex, when being bisexual was cool.

Yeah, I suspected that she said that to distinguish herself from people who were claiming to be such as a fashion statement.

On one hand, I think you're overgeneralizing what goes on at Pride events. On the same hand, if they want to be loud, lecherous, and in-your-face, more power to them. On the other hand, I totally understand where you're coming from, especially in regards to half the films they air on LOGO. On a third hand *grows third arm*, I think Pride events should be more explicitly open to the entire greater Queer community.

The only way to be sure is to try it out.

Perhaps Sweet's line that separates the two is at a different point than yours? It'd be interesting to know at what point a close friendship crosses over into romance for everyone. Like what would you be willing to do with a love interest that you wouldn't with a friend?
