Yea ok....even after trying to resolve the matter of my Nations character's death or not death....YOU ESPECIALLY was less than polite and mature about your responses....which is why I've long ago decided to simply do things my own way in Nations.

Sorry....but whether it's here...on "some FB game" or in real-life...the issue is the same. Maybe next time, whoever made this topic open would choose a less inflammatory topic, as I have PLENTY of reason to be preachy and hostile.

The bully is there to test your resolve. To be what you are means to have the resolve and guts to be it. If you don't have what it takes to stand up against the bully and make him bugger the hell off of you, then you will obviously be his bottom bitch and frankly don't deserve better either.

The bully's purpose is to make you fear him, and the only way you can avoid that is make him fear you, at least to a degree that convinces him to seek for easier prey. Never ever let someone humiliate you unchallenged, even if it means violence. Flesh wounds eventually heal, but pride wounds never do. More often than not, standing up against bullies ended... well, painfully for me, but it was the consistency with which I continued to strike back when struck eventually convinced them to seek more defenseless victims.

Ab-so-lute horseshit. Just because you have the resolve doesn't mean they'll leave you alone. A single bully, only getting at you occasionally? Maybe. 30, 40 people, trying to break you every minute you're at school? That's a hell of a lot harder. Furthermore, I never feared my bullies, but neither did they fear me.

Probably, but why not get mad instead of sad about it? I've never understood why some people always get sad/scared/depressed about situations like that. I always get mad. Very mad. Maybe I'm just odd though.

I was bullied and I ended up largely isolated and with few friends, and I stopped talking. It was certainly damaging to me.

Why does your opinion matter and ours don't?

The opinions of others have and never will help me, your worthless to me unless proven otherwise. So why should i care what you think, what you say when all it does is drag me down and annoy me? My opinion matters to me and in the end that is all that will matter when i have turned to dust. Everyone is always trying to damage me in some way why should i think otherwise no one i have met has given me reason to think differently and never will. A show of low self esteem is when you think others opinion of you supersede your own, that's one of the reason why those weaklings kill themselves because they let other get to them rather than accept who they are, they rely on others to keep their self esteem up, that in my opinion is quite pitiful.

Tell you what. If you're going to put up your own opinion then tell us you shouldn't bother listening to ours, why don't you spare everyone the annoyance and GTFO?

Bullying makes me fucking sick. Too many people have been driven to suicide because of it, and it leaves too many fucking emotional scars.

It promotes hate, ignorance, and intolerance. It encourages division instead of unity. Separation instead of integration.

To those who say that the victims need to 'toughen up', I can tell that you've never been bullied, or known somebody who has, and I dare you to tell that to the family of anybody who has killed themselves because of it. I double dare you to do it, and see what happens. I assure you that you won't enjoy it a single fucking bit.

Bullying isn't the root problem honestly. The root of the problem is the dog eat dog nature of capitalism itself. In order to fix the problem we'd have to totally revamp our economic system and getting people to do that is nearly impossible.

Capitalism is a dog-eat dog type of society. Kids are raised with consumerism and pretty much taught from a young age that if you're not the best you're screwed. This prompts some kids to try to become the best through various means. Some are nice, some are popular, some bully and make everyone fear them. Essentially bullying is a from of politics for children. At the time that bully seems tough, but once you get to high school hardly anyone remembers and/or cares about them. Same goes with politicians over the years.

We live in a culture dominated by women. A culture where being a grown man watching shows made for 8 year old little girls is acceptable in some circles. More than 70% of teachers are female. Those females are in position of power, and have become many of our role models rather than men also not forgetting that many young men are raised by single mothers. The real problem here I believe is not with bullying, but with feminization of males. Which is a symptom of our increasingly liberal for lack of a better word society.

A man needs to defend himself, and to stand up for himself against bullies. When some one disrespects his honor a man should raise to the occasion fully prepared to fight. How can he though learn these skills from a female? Most females are compassionate and caring. Rarely do females concern themselves with the testosterone driven behaviors of men.

We are told "be nice" when it is to no consequence of ourselves. Then when we're defending our honor or defending ourselves on the playground we are punished. What were these fists made for if not the defense of honor and self? These manly fists.

The biggest criminal here through all of this though is public schooling. It forces children into school regardless of their whims. It oppresses and neuters many young men. I wish for boys to some day work besides other men, and to be influenced by and develop male role models.

Yes it does matter. Please explain when sexism and bigotry doesn't matter. Who do you think boys choose as role models? Seems like you're just punching at a wall and whining over something that you fail to even explain. Watching a TV show can change your gender? Huh, didn't know that.

Sexism and bigotry don't really matter when you're dealing with members of a certain group who have a disposition towards acting a certain way. I don't know exactly know who men choose as their role models, but Gordon Ramsay or some one along the lines of George Washington would be a great start. Men who are mostly successful, hardworking and influential.

Being prepared is fine. Your post made it seem like anyone who prefers to solve bullying through non-violent methods is less of a man than if they pulled out a knife and stabbed them in the eye.

I can already tell you how it worked out.....IT DIDN'T. I got a black eye for three weeks after standing up to a bully....he wasn't even bruised.

Anyway its mentally, and emotionly, and a lot of the time psychically damaging. It sucks. It dose a lot. And once you snap and break one's nose they stop for a bit. Schools cant do a god damned thing to stop it

For the record, I was also bullied, particularly physically threatened and assaulted. I took martial arts, I got in fights and I finished them, but it also made me a very paranoid and asocial individual until adulthood. My emotional and psychological development was incredibly stunted and I'm probably still feeling the effects today.

I've taken lots of martial arts throughout my life, since I was nine years old. I also have no problem owning and using firearms and bladed weapons. My goal is for people who aren't afraid of my partner to still be afraid of me.

Funnily enough that was a turning point for me, I was shoved into a railing and it broke my nose, I must have tripped beforehand, but I told my parents I was running and I fell because I was too scared to incriminate the bully who had done it, it was when I got better that I realised the magnitude of the bullying, and how I had to stand up to them, so yes, I was damaged, the school back then took an irritatingly laissez faire attitude to bullying, giving the perpetrator a scolding and sending him on his way, my parents were concerned but unsure of what to do so it was mainly up to me. I fixed myself, and I made myself better, now if I can do that why can other people not? I don't consider myself superior to other people, but nowadays, children especially, seem to rely on the school or the parents to deal with bullies, and I think the next generation will be weaker for it.
