I've heard plenty of people on the internet complaining about it happening, but there is no evidence of it ever actually happening.

Homosexuals do indeed have every right to be together. They should have the same right heterosexuals do.

That's what I'm wondering. I think he was using a derogatory term for homosexuals then this turned into a religious debate, then a debate about hippies. :meh:
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

No one "discriminates" based on political views. The right wing gets bashed a lot because they are insane, but they aren't discriminated against.

I think there is often a lot of confusion over exactly what people mean when they say homosexuality. One way to look at this confusion is to look at more specific definitions of love. The Greeks recognized three forms and I'll propose rough english equivalents: phileo (friend/like people who might lend you a fewbucks or enjoy some experiences with you), agape (love, people who would die for you or raise your children if you did), eros(lust, people who want your body for sensual pleasure).

Most people who take issue with homosexuality (and non-marital sex in general) are only concerned with eros, and only define homosexuality in terms of the sexual activities and recognize persons of same sex may have deep relations in the agape sense without it being connected with eros. Many fans of homosexuality blend agape and eros into a continuum, sometmes associating same-sex agape wih being gay, to the point that two men who historically had a close relationship are often suggested as being gay.

One cultural impact of the latter interpretation is for males in particular to go to lengths to suppress or avoid expressions of same-sex agape for fear that it will interpreted as eros. In today's world it is difficult for a male to say "I love you" to another male, meaning agape, without it automatically being interpreted as eros. This has the potential to degrade the quality of relationships between members of the same sex where expression and mutual sharing of agape is avoided too avoid incorrect association of eros. In a culture where the border between agape and eros are more sharply defined, there is potential that the quality of same-sex relationships may be better because there is less suppression of expression of agape in avoidance of communicating eros.

Why don't men embrace and kiss each other's cheeks as they once did and yet do in some cultures? Did they suddenly become ungay, or was such kissing and embrace once safely understood to be agape and not confused with eros?

Provide evidence. Besides which, in the course of the rambling mess that you've turned this topic into, you have (in order) ranted against homosexuals, hippies, immigrants and liberals (unless I missed a few).
